Bit chilly this morning, but lovely clear skies.

Definately finding my average speed dropping as it gets colder, just dont put in as much effort.

Annoying my wife with the extra washing mind, winter gear to ride to work, summer gear home!

(Before any shouts inequality/stereotypical husband, we do share the housework duties!) hehe

The chance to wear the wrong clothes would be great.

I'm on an enforced cycling free week frown

Same here, though I don't do leg warmers! Even taking two sets of gloves, had my (cheap Aldi) winter gloves on this morning but will be fingerless on the ride home later, and no doubt still sweltering.

I rode 16 miles to work across Salisbury Plain this morning in fingerless gloves, my it was chilly.

Lovely seeing the mist in the depressions though.

Had a few fellow cyclists talk to me now on the way in, very friendly!

Quite a nice experience.

Also hit 38mph coming down one of the hills (-2.8).. So I'm happy with that! Makes a difference with no massai wind blowing in my face!

Very windy yesterday, first time I've ever really noticed it. My upmost sympathy to you Justin Cyder, it was not very nice. Today was a good day, 1 pr on way in (downhill route), and 4 pr on the way back (uphill). Can definitely feel myself getting fitter and faster.

Also had a little incident. Riding downhill, good speed, when a silver 206 indicating left from the outside lane cuts across but holds off joining inside lane. Passenger leans out of the window and makes a waving motion at me like "slow down". I slam on, him too then he turns down a side street. Obviously my fault, and good on him for not behaving like a moron. I must have zoned out or something, what threw me was the fact he was coming from so far on the right - thought he was lane changing, not turning. Must remember that one and be more alert to it!

So a car overtook you then tried to cut you up to turn left? Doesn't sound like your fault to me.

I know how it reads but It felt like I was in completely the wrong position. I see what you mean however.

Did my firth commute in five days this morning.

This morning was a struggle.....

Would usually give up after four but had to take the kids to school this morning (on bikes) and cycling on from there was the quickest option.

Drove today instead, and still I get aggro.

Driving up a busy high street, there's nose to tail traffic in the opposite lane, mine is moving at around 20 mph. As I indicate and filter right into my right turn only lane, a workman-type cyclist on a £100 Argos mountain bike swings out from behind a bus, cycling straight at me. I stopped, he stopped right in front of me. I shrugged at him, he gave me the finger, then tried to squeeze down the gap between my car and the bus, while shouting all manner of expletives at me.

He was in my bloody lane!

Better ride in this morning but had 1/2 hour panic when couldn't find wallet. Cycled in early, 0615 and got in at 0640, where the security guard asked if I had lost anything? He had found my wallet when it dropped out of my bag when sorting out crook lock. What a fantastic bloke, I'm going to speak to building management and make sure they know about it. Nice when you work with good people!

Yes I was going so fast on my trek 6000 mountain bike that the 206 couldn't keep up! After much rethinking and remembering the incident, yes I conclude the 206 crew were tools. Had I posted this story on general gassing no doubt people would be calling for my head on a stick, you get a more sympathetic viewpoint on this forum to cyclists!

After five commutes on the trot, my legs were shot yesterday and this morning my hamstrings were rigid.

Finally beginning to feel normal again just before it all kicks in again tomorrow.

Don't say that, I'm going to try and commute/travel exclusively on my bike between now and Friday!

48 fast group miles yesterday, 60 in total.

So what did I do today to recover? Got on my bike, pointed it south and cycled to London then got the train back. 104 miles in total and my legs still feel strong. Strange but lovely feeling smile
