The straight 6 in the w124 is so smooth, I just pulled on the drive and neither of the neighbours about 3-4 meters away even knew we were there.

Still though, what tyres should i go for, my usual choice for recent cars is either falken 912 or 452. The 912's are available i the 195/65/15 profile for a special offer of around £40 each on camskill + fitting else where of course.

Are there any super tyres that anyone uses on there w124 saloon that i should know about for not much more?
Any w124 owners experience of their tyres and the ride they give.
I think the current tyres are very old Michelin primacy sports that have seen better days.
If Bolide comes along he will recommend Continentals of some sort, Premium Contact 2's probably. I fit them on my w210 and they suit the car very well. They'll be bit more than Falkens though.

That Imola one didn't visit a BMW dealer for an oil service until it was three years old and the speedo said 13k. Possible... but spidey tingles.
The E46 of that age had no age criteria for servicing only mileage and 13k is about right. If it only covered 13k miles in 3 years there is no reason why it would have visited a dealership before then even though I'm sure most of us would have had it done earlier.

Some sort of non standard screen in front of the gear lever? Not seen one like that before.

The wheels are fine IMO. The spoiler, not so much.

Yeah, the Ziex are about half the price of the ones on the 928.

Usually whenever i buy something it has tyres of a size you would think are cheap but it seems they are always a measurement off the cheapest and somehow it makes them the most expensive, so its nice to have a cheap size of tyre for once.

That's spot on! Lovely
I would. If te wheels are genuine, they'd be on eBay when I'd found some to replace them though. Alpina wheels really aren't my bag...

My knowledge of BMW's is not good enough to be able to point out things like that... Lol.

not especially. Its an SE and a honking great V8. Luckily for us that devalues them like crazy!

Our ex company 545 touring was an 04 and it went 3 years ago for 9k trade.

That car was mentioned a while ago - so has been available for some time. Too expensive for what it is IMO, though i'm sure it's lovely.

If you look closely there looks like some weird and wonderful control button things either side if the gear lever. All looks a bit Heath Robinson.

I'm guessing after market sat nav, with a remote control. Had a similar one in a 406 once.
