Renault Alpine GTA Turbo
Discussion
Must be off my rocker! I have just paid the deposit on one of these. The car is going to have all of the oily bits restored and as soon as budget allows I will get the paint work sorted as it is looking a bit tired (although all of the chips in the paint will be sorted)
Engine gets top end rebuild, gear box rebuilt, all running gear re done, chassis corrosion sorted, coil overs, new brakes etc etc. All being done by a marque specialist
Might feel a bit slow compared to the Tuscan, but it features in my 1980's book called "Dream Cars". I have always loved the shape. Amazingly in the 1980's it was described as a super car and compared in the reviews to Lotus Esprit Turbo, 911 and Ferrari 355. Some reviews found it quicker than the Esprit and relatively easy to live with.
Tyres are tricky to find though, especially the rears which are 255/45 R15
Think I like quirky plastic cars The dash appears to be made of 1980's margerine tub plastic and the ICE features a graphic equalizer

Never seen one of those before; what engine/bhp does it have?
2.5 V6 turbo, 12 valve low boost so only 200bhp but quite easy to get to 250bhp some are up at 300bhp. The NA engine is in a range of Renaults, Citroens, Volvo's etc. The cars were hand built by Alpine who have a good motorsport pedigree mainly in rallying

Ah this is the first one (Alpine GTA), someone on here has a yellow V6 Turbo i think,1992 ones more powerful/faster than these.
Nice one OP should be fun.
That's the A610. Faster but in some ways a bit less pure, pop up headlamps body kit and less margerine tub plastic inside. . If that makes any sense? Engine is a 3l version of the prv. Nice one OP should be fun.

Shamelessly stolen from another PHer (who happens to be a family member) but he has a VERY nice GTA, I'm not a French plastic fan but it would probably convert me!
That's a Le Mans. Very rare limited edition, bit slower but nice. I will post better pics when mine is finished at the end of Aug
If you need any GTA help & info get in touch with my mate Tony (he's a bit of a GTA guru!)....here's his car:

A610 Adam ;-)
They look very similar but something like 80% of the a610 was new and in some areas improved. Most 610 owners prefer them to the gta and most gta owners prefer there cars to the 610. It's all personal preference, I love them both but naturally have a preference for my car!
Good luck with the purchase anyway, Lee knows these inside out so you can be assured that you'll have a nice example. Had mine for 4 years now and have never regretted it for a moment.
