I'd have picked the KTM based on the graphs. 120bhp at 7k is very impressive compared to the other bikes.

Are these road or track tests or both?

Doesn't the MV do some fancy trick with the velocity stacks on the TBs - they're moveable and automated IIRC - to give better mid range as well. It looks like a faulty map I have to say. Not exactly unusual for an MV though.

Compare it to the Panigale - at 7k rpm KTM has 40 odd percent more power!!

Impressive by the Blade. Ducati look to have successfully made a peaky IL4 that sounds like a twin hehe

Absolutely no idea what tricks it's got. Just looks like it's lacking a massive amount of power till a massive peak at the top of the graph.

An amateur view - the Japanese manufacturers as well as KTM and Aprilia all look beautiful. What's the step down on the Honda at high revs? Big hole in the Ducati's midrange, opposite to the KTM which probably feels much faster most of the time.

So what's up with the BMW? Why does it look like that? I thought it was supposed to be very powerful. Would the graphs look at all different if measured in the real world, i.e. in 180+mph headwind at the top end?

Edit - misread BMW blue for MV blue. My world order is resumed. MV doesn't look so good then.

Guy who developed the map was a fan of two strokes? hehe

Not depressed at all Bill, I've ridden most of the bikes in this test apart from the MV and KTM.

148 bhp from mine? I dunno, maybe I am too old now because it still feels fast to me. hehe

I'm in love with the KTM, I rode the BMW last week and it was lovely, but its too fast to be enjoyable on the road. It's great fun, but you're always looking up in the sky for the 5-0hehe

Even CQ8 emailed me today saying he'd spent most of his only day at work researching them and telling me he doesn't think he wants his SPS anymorerofl

I shouldn't say too fast because that's like criticising Kelly Brook for having massive bangers. It's the power delivery, it'll do (I'm guessing here because I was too busy laughing maniacally) 100 in first, you're risking becoming someone's bh in the showers at Parkhurst if you give it some proper welly.

Saying that, I was laughing maniacally again this morning at the way the KTM would go from 50-150 in one gear in not a lot of time at all. They're all fookin quick. And I need one.

Feels stronger than 148 John, the torque graph for yours feels wrongconfused
R1 feels the strongest 1000 from 4000rpm on the road so it beats me mate.

See! We're both to old and know nothing, it says so in Black and White.

I'm gonna stick to riding my Fizzy.

Blades really are the class of the current Thous. Generation 2 - all the niggles of the Gen1 bike ironed out, everything boss-smooth. Graphs show it, it's a slick machine. Refined, honed, and still refreshingly simple and true to the Blade ethos. A bargain to boot thumbup

Sadly, consistent with increasing numbers of reports: the Panigale just isn't cutting it.

All those stats are irrelevant to the typical Honda rider that rides like a fanny
