Saw this on Detailing World today...

Its a Subaru Forester Sti apparently! Had never even heard of it before, let alone see one on the road or in a magazine/TV show. Obviously I was aware of the Impreza Sti, but didn't realise they did a Forester Sti, it's not even on Parkers.

Now you'll all tell me they are as common as a Yaris or something, and I've been living in a cave for 5 years....

Yep you must live under a rock. I have seen lots of these.

I didn't know that the Jag shooting brake existed until a few weeks back.

I saw that one as well and did a double take having not been aware of them either. I often see odd cars on DW though and sometimes have to resist the temptation to say 'nice detailing job, but why bother on that car?'. smile

Saw an original VW pickup yesterday for the first time, think it was an E reg. Looked pretty mint for the age. First time i saw or heard of such a thing. Apparently same front end as a Golf?

I take it you're very young?

VW Caddy pickups used to be everywhere - they're Mk1 Golf based.

Although they're not the 'original VW pickup' - that would be a T2 pickup.

I think it may be the love child of a Range Rover and a Bini Clubman?

There is one of them parked by Monorep Vauxhall in Southall each Saturday morning. Not in mint condition. For example, the bloke that owns it has repared a rust patch by welding a roadworks Diversion sign onto the side and painting the car Red Oxide. Its a fantastic bit of (Shi)Kit.

Can't remember its name but it's a Subaru Legacy front.

There is probably dozens of JDM cars we know nothing about.

Saw that pickup at Tempest rally 2010 BTW,never seen another

Edit...Doh it says the name on the back.....It's a Baja

I have a hunch that it's a Subaru Baja.

Not sure why, though.... wink

Also that T2 is pretty damn cool.

It may have been a Daewoo, I just recognised it as a Ssangyong Musso.

The Ssangwoo is one of them badge engineering projects. I cant even remember what the Woo was called. Could even be the Daewoo Musso, in a shocking display of not trying to hide the fact that two cars are built on the same line.

Or perhaps a shocking display of Daewoo buying PpingPpong and rebadging the range into the new corporate branding?
