Not a lot to choose from this time, but the workstand that seems to get OK reviews is back.

How do you turn it into a cadence meter?
And I read it that the offers start next Thursday, so will have to wait will we not?
You set put a strong magnet (a Moly. for example) on your cranks and attach the sensor to the chain stays and then set the rolling circumference to the correct figure - I forget now but there are vids on youtube and lots of how to guides. It's a really easy job to do. On the display the speed in equates to RPM so 12.0 MPH = 120rpmAnd I read it that the offers start next Thursday, so will have to wait will we not?
I bought a computer for 4.99 at Aldi a few months ago, works perfectly! Only gripe is that its not wireless, but its not too big and has a calorie counter, calculates the amount of C02 you have saved compared to car and some other useless information. Couldn't be happier to be honest.

Thanks for the heads-up! Will certainly be giving the stand a go.Not a lot to choose from this time, but the workstand that seems to get OK reviews is back.
I have bought a lot of cycling gear from Lidl and TBH its super.
I have bought 2 cycling jackets (not waterproof), 1 long sleeved top, socks, long cycling pants, short gloves, and got the trip computer for the wife's bike. I havent really messed about with the computer, but it does calories etc.
Their stuff is excellent value and cant really be beaten for quality over price. I have lots of other cycling clothing and TBH I cant fault Lidls in any way.
The best bargain was a pair of their cycling shoes in a bargain bin for £5. These have air soles and the metal insert for cleats. Best bargain ever.

More gloves and a workstand for me, if I can remember to visit on the Thursday this time. I may try some more shorts, but fear that they will be as thin as the last pair I bought from either Aldi or Lidl, can't remember which. They leave absolutely nothing to the imagination, and are probably best worn for cycling comfort under normal trousers or baggy shorts.
The gloves are good at the price - almost disposable. The last pair I bought are still going strong despite frequent washing - the only minor complaint is that the grippy (silicone?) writing on the palms didn't last to the end of the first ride.
I regretted not buying the workstand last time out. I even had one in my hand in the Camberley store that was further reduced because it was 'found in the stockroom' when the cycling kit wasn't 'on offer'. I feared then that it was too good to be true, but at 30 bucks against a 'decent' branded stand starting around the £100 mark, I'm tempted to give it a go this time. I'll be staying well away from the pump though, as the track pump I bought last time broke after a couple of uses.

I'll be there tomorrow to get gloves, and perhaps the trainer socks - good price.
I bought the cycle computer last time. It was wired rather than wireless and £3 cheaper but the unit looks identical. It works well but:
1.Doesn't like rain (stops working) especially if the two contacts on the mounting clip get wet.
2.The plastic screw that fixes the sensor to the spokes feels like it's going to break
3.If you use the "Scan" mode to toggle between avg trip speed, trip distance, trip time, there is a lot of button pressing to toggle round the menu to reset the trip meter each time (you cannot reset it whilst in the "Scan" mode)
Other than the above it is fine.

Generally speaking any magnet will do for a speed or cadence sensor: you can buy Cateye ones separately and they stay on, cope with both round and flat spokes and are relatively small and light.
I bought the bike stand last summer - seems to be standing up well, but needed a little modifying with additional washers here and there to make it properly secure.

Picked up a stand myself too, store opened at 8, I dropped by at 8:05 and there were two other people getting one too.
Will check it out later when I get back home, it's not going to get masses of use so should suffice at the price.
was in my local at 8:01 first 2 customers at the checkout me and one other...both with a workstand :-)Will check it out later when I get back home, it's not going to get masses of use so should suffice at the price.
there was around 25 left
was not going to miss out this time...all assembled seems like a good bit of kit.
