V8 firing order

Help !!!
I've been giving the engine bay a clean up tonight, and I think I've got a couple of leads mixed up. Anyway it sounds to me missing on a cylinder.
Can anyone post a diagram showing firing order viewed from front of car.
Firing order is 18436572. 1 is the front/nearside cylinder, 2 is the front/offside cylinder and so on. Hope you will remember to take careful note of where the leads are *now* before you disturb them any further, could be the leads are correct and there's some other problem.
Cheers,
Peter Humphries (and a green V8S)
The dizzy cap is numbered 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 with the 8 & 4 being towards the front of the car.
Pre '87 and post '87, Rover recommended two different routes for the ignition leads - see the Haynes Range Rover manual page 13.46 for the two diagrams.

One of those day's. Cannot get it started. I have plug lead number 1 frontmost on the cap then it goes anti clockwise 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2. Flooded again so the plugs are out for a while to dry out. Had a spark, changed coil and now have a better spark. All the ingedients seem to be there except the bang.

No, the cylinder layout is 1357 on the left/nearside bank (1 at the front) and 2468 on the right/offside bank.
Er, my reference was to the dizzy cap, not the cylinder bank.
Jeff might have become confused, as his reply above reads, "I have plug lead number 1 frontmost on the cap then it goes anti clockwise 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2'.
Of course, the exact position of the cap is less material than the position of the rotor-arm at TDC.
BTW, and as noted on his other thread (<a href="http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=12&t=67405">www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=12&t=67405</a> the "anti-clockwise" is wrong too.

Scuse the question if its daft but is there a number 1 position on the distributer. Think I may have mucked the lead oredr up as well. Must remember to mark them next time.
