After much deliberation I've found a '08 325i SE that fits my needs. Im upset that it doesnt have a sunroof or heated seats but if I wanted everything I should have done better at school.

So its going to Wood BMW tomorrow for a pre-purchase inspection/report. Its only got 22000miles on it. What else should I be looking for that might be wrong? It looks like it was originally a BMW HQ car at some stage its been via Dick Lovetts and also a dealer in reading. Service history is one service at 6300miles and one at 18000miles in December. Is that enough? Should there have been one in between? They only thing I can pick on it is that the NS front is unevenly worn so Im thinking wheel alignment required. The outside 5cm is shot. O/S front is fine.

Also, it doesnt have load-through but if I look from above behind the rear seats, I can clearly see a catch for for them to latch to, but no way of releasing it to fold the seats down. Do they fold down? They're split 60/40. scratchchin

I'd get the car on a dyno and/or get a check for carbon build up

Is that the same as needing a de-nox? The inspection showed a requirent for a new nox sensor and de-nox.

Not sure. We have an N53 330i - it is supposed to have 272bhp but when I put it on the rolling road had less than 250. I think removing the carbon is quite a labour intensive job.

Check it starts okay from cold. These suffer from high pressure fuel pump problems and my missus e92 325i started playing up not long after we got it with similar miles to yours. Symptoms are rough starting, lumpy idle, engine management light coming on and loss of power when driving. All only seemed (to us) to appear when cold. The fix is a new design of HPFP which is about £500 fitted by BMW.

If you want one with a sunroof heated seats and through load rear seats (along with many other goodies) I could help you. It's also a N52 330i so no HPFP issues but it may be older than you want being an 05

Funnily enough, this one had a fuel pump in December. That one off the list. It had the coil recall done yesterday, thats two ticked off. Will the coil recalll dodge the injector issue? That just leaves the nox sensor, which wouldnt be covered under any AUC warranty as its been identified before the purchase of the warranty.

Rats.

You are assuming that the replacements are a permanent fix!
