I was planning to mount 1 coil pack on top each rocker to keep the leads short and tidy as possible

Behind the plenum just like in the Range Rover. Looks entirely factory fit.
I'll try to grab pics but the so neatly tucked away there there isn't much to see. Sean @ V8D fitted mine FYI.

My griff has then behind the plenum too. definately fits!
Although you do have to remove the plenum to get them in or out....

Mounted mine on off/side rocker cover with velcro for easy removal.

Unfortunately they don't design 'em specifically for installing neatly on a Rover V8... :P

Isn't there something funky about the triggering on the Range Rover coil packs (that fit between the plenum and the bulkhead)?

The JED 4.6 w/GEMS I specced for a TR8 here came with its coil packs installed in the standard RR location in the Vee, behind the plenum as per others above. Simple, tidy and no non-OE parts or modification thereof required. smile
