1976 in a J reg Hillman Avenget 1250. Passed first time but remember having a discussion with the examiner who advised me that I could have set off in second gear.

"Not in this car" I told him " it doesn't have enough torque".

Chers,

Tony

There's a lot of old gits on this forum.
Harsh but true hehe

Including me - bike test on a Lambretta LI 125, car in an Austin 1100. I still remember the handbrake starts - up with the clutch until it bites, wait for the bonnet to rise and away you go !!!!
Strangely similar for me (in the late 60s) except my 2-wheeler was a Vespa 125.

Surely this thread is "what car did you pass your test in" not "what shoes did you pass your test in" smile

Fiat 128 driving school car in 1980. Parents had automatics.

Remember going for a lairy drive in Mum's 131 Supermirafiori later the same day - these ex-hippies with their easy going attitude to property, I dunno. Damned if I'd let my kids loose in any nice metal. Hypocrite? Moi!

May I Join the club !

Lambretta TV 175 and Austin 1100 , the 1100 had very weird trafficators that kept cancelling themselves as I was turning right , I kept resetting it whilst making the turn but it just kept cancelling..........I failed !
