Becoming less still a fan...

It's meant to be very good. I look forward to trying it.

Well, I don't have air-con (didn't even realise it was an option until after I had purchased my Chim and read the owners manual..lol), so a spirited drive with the roof off seems to be the answer for staying cool And a hat!

At first glance it would seem more logical to keep the V8 but with some clever cylinder de-activation technology (like Audi) to provide the economy/emissions whilst the pipe/string back glove owners are purring to the shops.

Found out that my 323 goes MUCH better on petrol than gas.

I had the pleasure of watching the paragon of acting brilliance that is "Killer Elite" yesterday - an unremarkable film made significantly more unremarkable by the void of acting talent that is Jason Statham.
However, what did make it mildly interesting was that it was set in 1980 and used a selection of cars that were almost historically correct - the film opened with a 4-pot E28 chasing a W123 Merc, and threw in a selection of Jags, Granadas and assorted other gems.
I do now feel compelled to go out with a shopping list of cars from the 80s and find somewhere to stash them all away. A Mk2 Golf GTi is sitting quite high up that list...

Spent the whole time nit picking the mistakes. Set in 1981, actually - opening sequence was 1980, then main action '1 year later' but the chase with the 1986 Mk2 Jetta had me shouting, the B reg car in one scene was annoying, the bendy buses were unlikely and using the waterloo city line platform for the Metro was absurd. Other than that, it was a bit s t.

One of my work colleagues mentioned that he had an opportunity to buy one from a mate, and a random couple I met at a B&B told the story of how they sold her green one. Seems she didn't know what she had, and the 'phone range off the hook when advertised - the first to see it bought, and could be heard confirming that "I'm going to buy it" as they were walking up the drive to view it.
