can't see anyone but alonso or red bull taking this one. i think mclaren squandered their good start to the season and others have closed the gap and overtaken. Mclaren have significantly changed their car, rear wing endplates, front wing, rear floor, 'mechanical changes', new coke botle and sidepods. Also people are reporting a return of the fired overrunsound from the mac. they will either be fast or rubbish, i can see them as fast as red bull, slightly faster than ferrari. Merc have a lot of new parts too.

Schumachers crash just like the GP2 red flag crash this morning. Although the GP2 driver hit much further down almost missing the tyre barrier and could have been very nasty against the concrete wall.
I did post about it earlier (long post on mobile) but I got oops pages it never appeared and I lost the post.

Plus, apart from two or three of the 'best' car/driver combinations, applies to about twenty of those on the grid come Sunday. Nothing new there. Been that way for many years... that's why this season cannot be accused of being the 'same old, same old' as was so often the case in the past. Praise be for that. It's a matter of time before the 'same old, same old' status quo is restored... that may please some of the fan boys, but, not me. Even "Alonso the great" has benefitted by others' misfortunes and 'falling off' ...

Is there less interest in the German GP this weekend? I get the distinct impression that there is less interest than usual and observe the same on other sites I visit, not just PH. vonuber said: Rosberg 5 place grid penalty for gearbox change. Mercedes misery continues.

He's in a good car he's at home and he's the least fancied of the 6 WC drivers on the grid. The bookies know it's over, only he & Brawn don't .... or aren't saying.

There does seem to have been a drop in comments, etc, right across the various forums and, to be fair, right across all the races. The hard core is there but fewer casual visitors. I'd like to see the website stats of the likes of Pitpass. The stands were sparsely populated yesterday but it was raining. Schumacher's lack of results can't have helped.

Can I get Sky Sports on Freeview for the weekend? Or is there a way of watching the qualifying live online? Or will I have to wait until later on bbc iplayer? Any pubs near Crawley showing it? Sorry if this qualifies for thicko of the week post, but beeer is getting cold in the fridge and I don't want to waste it.

Lack of interest. The paucity of coverage on FREE to air is almost certainly a main component of reduced interest here in the UK. With so much sport on their plate these last and future few weeks, BBC appear to be chasing their tails with sports coverage. Not quite sport overkill and never too much for me but, I like my F1 and being unable to view all the races is a tad frustrating ... but, I'll survive. Regarding F1 winners, there will be about two dozen losers in the race for the WDC come the end of the season... Statistics you cannot question. It's always thus ... still losers though.... Bookies... what do they know. 66-1 Alonso earlier in the season ... I wonder how that dawg of a Ferrari is doing in P3... Currently watching some of the Open golf with Practice three on-line. Mr. Legard doing the verbals but, praise be, less vociferously of late .. see, anyone can improve... even me ...
