Hi Guys, I would appreciate any help with this problem. Just preparing/checking my T reg 1.4 16V Corsa Sport for it's impending MOT, when I discovered that the front and rear windscreen washers were not working. Filled up the reservoir, tried again, but no water and, more importantly, no pump noise. Consequently, I suspect a problem with the pump. Just tried to check the fuse (simple stuff first) and there is no apparent reference to it inside the fuse box cover. So, what I'm asking is; 1.) Is there a common fuse for the front and rear windscreen washers? 2.) If so, what number is it, also what rating? 3.) Any suggestions for other causes? Thanks in advance for any constructive responses.

It'll be the washer pump which has seized. Had this on a Corsa back in 1998 and again on another I bought for my wife to learn to drive in around 2009.
You can get the pump out easily by unbolting the fluid reservoir to get some movement then pulling the pump straight out. There are no bolts/screws holding the pump into the bottle - Its just a push fit.
The same pump does front and rear washers.
With the wife's I managed to get it working enough to go through an MOT by simply banging it gently with a hammer. I think they seize and this got it working.
However, that only worked for a few months so I bought a cheap one from a motor factor - that one packed up after another few months, the replacement only lasted a few months too!
If you buy a replacement and want it to work, get one from a Vauxhall dealer.

I'd go with all the above, just came across this problem with my mate's polo. They're quite universal, I borrowed the pump off my Caterham which slotted straight in...

Hi Guys, Thanks for all the advice. It was the pump, so I replaced it with a new Vauxhall one, together with new bonnet nozzles and all was well. The car successfully went through it's MOT, so I'm a happy chap.
