I sold the MX5 RS I had and sweetened up very quickly with the first viewer taking it only 3 days after advertising it. As a stop gap I bought an Accord Type R for sensible money but ultimately knew I had an itch to scratch. Like many I've got used to the buy a cheapish car and run it until it isn't really viable or I got bored and then do the same again. The thing is I never really felt like I had anything special. Not since I was 19 and bought a MK1 MR2 (Super Red T-Bar with black leather). I felt like I was driving a super car when I was a kid. Fast forward to now and I made the decision to get something that requires a bit more investment but is nearing, in my opinion the bottom of the depreciation curve and I can really cherish again. My friends will testify that me saying 'I'm going to keep this one' is like Britney Spears saying she'll put knickers on the next time she goes out. I genuinely believe this one, is, a keeper. She's going straight to Top Gear Automotive for Nitron's, a C service, new brakes, Yokohama AD07's and a fair few other odd jobs. Anyway enough with the rambling, here she is. Nice car, I really like the proportions of these and I think they are a timeless design....and I bet an excellent drive

Cheers for the kind comments.
I'm in Prestbury at the moment but will be posted out with the RAF soon and I don't know where I'll be then. I'll definitely get to the next PH meet though and probably the Queens Sq one in Bristol.
The colour looks great in the flesh and it's such a low mileage car (25k) that it's looking great even after ten years.

 It's funny when you get an urge to take a photo. First petrol stop seemed like an important moment?! Very weird. Anyway... A big parcel from Elise Parts arrived today. A big thanks to Ian who was happy to sit on the phone and work through what I needed and even suggested a few things that I could take off rather than pushing stuff on me. So this little lot turned up today.   Beautiful Quantum Zero shocks  Yokohama Advan Neova AD07's which at the moment are like rocking horse poop  Elise Parts braided brake hoses  Yellow stuff pads  EBC Ultimax discs  Even a new key fob It's the little things. Most importantly though..

Wouldnt bother with yellow stuff pads. Had them on mine and were bloody dangerous. Unservo'ed light car and crap pads means they never warmed up. Nearly flew off a dual carriageway and into a roundabout.

Agree with the above, I've got Pagids on mine, and except for a bit of a cold-run squeal, they're fab.

Welcome to the club!
You'll get loads of different opinions from Elise owners about what pads to run! For what it's worth, I've run Mintex 1144's for 8 years and can't fault them!

Their track pads are now the blue and orangestuff's.

Cheers again for the kind words and greetings from Cuba! As for the yellow stuff... hey, they're pads. If I don't get on with them I can change them for pagids etc. Given my budget wasn't totally unlimited I thought it made more sense to worry about not scrimping on shocks. Still haven't really driven it yet though. It's been sat at home and three days after I bought it I came on holiday. To tell you the truth, I can't wait to get back to it! Anyway I have a cocktail in hand and it's running low so will get off now and get a refill. Buenos noches!

OK so yesterday I managed to get my tyres fitted and had planned on dropping the car to Top Gear Automotive today to get the HG work done plus all the upgrades I'd bought. The little bugger had other ideas though and did a big wee on the road after the temp started rising. Luckily I managed to get out of the way of the traffic and got the engine off before the urination started.   Cue the RAC coming out to look at the car and proclaim nothing could be done at the roadside (no sh!t sherlock). Still the chap was pretty friendly and my good mate Mish and I had already had the access panels open to see if it was a radiator end cap as they are prone to going. It didn't appear obvious though so for the time being I'm going to hope it just pressurised and blow a hose off. Worst case scenario will be a new radiator I guess and in which case I'll just stump up for an alloy one and be done with it. Car should take a week to do. Fingers crossed it'll not be a huge bill.
