Hello,
I have a 2005 1.6 astra and have a couple of problems. First one is a juddering clutch when cold. 2nd one is the coolant level warning keeps coming on. It appears to lose a little coolant every couple of weeks however when checking it has only dropped 1 cm below the max level. the underside of the coolant cap has a slight milky residue, however there is no milky residue on the oil cap.
Any idea's?

Tiny crack in head gasket? Could be worth trying some of that sealant additive as the crack must literally be hairline, worth a punt. Try steel seal or something like that. Cheers, Josh

Clutch judder is quite common in the 1.6 Astra. I did a bit of research online and all came to the conclusion change the clutch but judder would come back after 500 miles. Changed mine 2000 miles ago and still no juddering. Mine was slipping quite bad so hence change but the judder thing I lived with for 18 months.

I have a 2006 Astra,. Had it 3years and clutch Judders when its cold. More noticeable in damp weather for some reason. Haven't bothered changing it as it is not slipping otherwise.
