Yesterday was our first track day in our 1500 SR3 and have to say it was a unbeliveable experience, the performance is mind blowing, especially the corner speed it achieves.

Anyway only issue was breaking the shorter drive shaft but luckly had a spare one with us, so a quick change and we were back out enjoying ourselves.

Noticed that the drive shaft has Ford markings and some numbers on it, can anyone advise if they are off the old XR2? Also any recommendation for heavy duty alternatives.

Any advise would be appreciated.

I've always got my HD shafts (Radical and non-Radical) from Brand (the successors to the Late Bob Dayson) and have never had a moment's problem with them despite abusing them weekly by hillclimbing and sprinting on sticky slicks.

How much do you pay for your hd shafts out of interest LCM?

Obviously depends on exact spec, but IIRC somewhere in the region of £150 each (Dr Dave has all the invoices for Betty so I can't go and look them up).

Just picked up a pair of heavy duty drive shafts from Brian at Brand Mechanical Engineering for our SR3 and cost £280 plus VAT.

Brian is a very helpful and nice fella, highly recommended.
