Ok work is going tits up. Its been a real slog for quite a while and I've not taken a holiday in two years.
I had the chesty/cough that was going round two weeks ago but on Saturday I lost my appetite. Totally lost it. I was hungry, I had hunger pangs but I couldn't even face food. As a consequence I've not eaten anything at all since then.
The Docs prescribed antibiotics as she said I have a viral infection.I'm dubious and think its stress. Pure stress?
If I move to an area of sudden cold I violently shake for a while or burst into intense sweats.
I fear not working, being unemployed. (I'm an employee).
I don't want to be damaging myself but surely not eating for so long isn't a bloody good thing.
Help.

From personal experience I know that real feelings of hunger fade after three days, so you have to force yourself to eat.

They did. They were worse on Monday. Real bad. Now nothing- just feint. I imagine thats the turning point where your body starts eating its stores? I've tried forcing myself- spent two hours trying to keep a yoghurt down last night.
Weird. Have I turned into an anorexic girl?

Our lass gets this/does this when stressed... Deep rooted issues.
I've found that routine being adhered to works once she's eating, but to get the ball rolling go for junk food.
The idea may revolt you, but munch a big-mac or something, force your way through it. Get a bit if sleep. Then try and resume your normal routine.
If it is stress related, chances are that it's cyclical, so with you not eating your blood sugars will be through the floor, you're stressing more and clarity of thinking has evaded you.
HTH in some way

Watch a few episodes of Man vs Food. In all seriousness, yes it is stress. If everything at work is going tits up and you haven't had a holiday for two years then I think it is time you took a couple of weeks off.

I have on exercise not eaten for prolonged periods and yes after a few days your hunger goes away. You also will struggle to eat as your stomach shrinks. You will have to force yourself.
You need to eat so start now and take small amounts often before dropping back to normal three meals. I'm also guessing you're drinking too much caffeine either in tea or coffee

Are you still drinking liquids? I guess so or you would be in a bad way.
Try drinking thin soups (packet stuff) and work your way up from there.

Lucozade daily with one coffee in the morning. Plenty of water though.

Water will be bloating you if too much.
What's your faviourite snack?
Buy that. Force it in. Ride out the stomach cramps. Rinse, repeat.

Youd have been at deaths door without liquid. Make is sweet and not diet and you can probably go on for ages, but you shouldnt.
I think that now, as a 6'+ 15+ stone man I couldt go without food for too long, as my blood sugar level would plummet and Id start to feel dizzy after a day.

Erm, that sounds like a genuine problem in the making Hora.
Serious suggestion - go back to your doctor (or another one if you don't trust the first one) and get some more advice. They are much better qualified to be able to help than the bunch of internet knob-jockeys that is PH.
I hope things improve dude, and soon.
Oli.

I haven't been through the same, but get in front of a decent GP, it's not good for you - your body needs a lot of nutrients and fuel. Until you get infront of the GP - try some carbohydrate drinks, like for runners etc, so even if you don't physically eat - you are at least getting some of the fuel your body needs.
Take it easy

My advice is you eat something. Sorry, good luck on recovery. I have sort of been there with stress but in the end I liked food too much.

Help. Stress at work is always really hard to cope with, as it feels out of your control. Can you take some time off, to give yourself a chance to recover? And if you are being sick when you try to eat (or losing food in other ways ) then maybe you have a stomach or intestinal infection - worth going back to the GP - oh, and avoid dairy products as often they can trigger being sick (IME, anyway). Hope you feel better soon.
