Hey guys can anyone tell me where I will find the power source to the warm up reg on a 280i 1986 its not getting any power to it ...relay? The car starts and will run.
From memory...The WUR will only get power when the engine is turning.
On the same 12v run as the Fuel pump and Aux Air Device.
Probably (almost definately) from the safety module.
Engine running.... check on AAD, then WUR.
Even if you don't get power to those two bits the car will still run ok, maybe the rpm will not drop as fast as the car warms up.
Tip for a smooth running 280, petrol conditioner twice a year, Techron or similar. CIS likes clean fuel.

....what's safety module ? Is that the ERS the cream box on the passenger side
Yep.....but if your car is running then the safety mod is operating ok or your fuel pump would not run.!!!!If you clip a test lamp on the WUR or AAD and start the car you should see close to 12v.
You will not get anything with just the key in the ignition position, you need either the starter operating or the car actually running.
The wiring route for the 12v is directly from the starter while the is in the start position. After the key is returned to it's run position the 12v comes from the module. (Module is operated by the ignition coil)
