You'd be surprised though, quite a lot of 2-up-2-down Victorian Terrace type houses have lofts of open to neighbours. It's weird and I was surprised when I first saw it. Most, of course, have been bricked up these days but I'd bet there are still a good few out there which have not been sorted.
Our house is like this, what's weirder is that it was built with a bedroom in the loft space, a door each side into the eaves and no partition on either side ! So nothing protecting against fire or body-carrying n'er-do-wells

Must get that sorted..

MM - he won't have set out to kill her. Odds are it happened accidentaly, the circumstances of which we don't yet know. It is all too easy to come to a conclusion as to what happened though.
Yes I thought this, lost his temper and took it too far (obviously) though this is all still alleged at the mo. Why though - was she demanding money, refusing his advances, wouldn't tidy her room etc etc, guess we'll find out soon, I just keep thinking poor poor girl frown

Have you checked under the bed recently? smile

Normally, lack of firewall gets picked up by mortgage surveyors, and getting them built becomes a condition of the mortgage.

Jesus christ. What possesses someone to do something like this.

I can see the whole scenario with the bloke. But the Grandmother? Even allowing for the pure genetic soup she is crawling in, how do you stoop that low? Following on so soon from the Derby fire lot it just reinforces the thought that we really have so little idea of what goes on in the lives of the feral.

Odd, I've heard from people in the force that she was found stuffed into the eaves, not in a case.

From 'The Wail'

"Officers had previously conducted a full search of the house and a second sweep using dogs trained to detect dead bodies. Colleagues suspect the body was behind a door connecting the loft to that of an adjacent property.

Sources claimed a team who spent two hours searching the property last Sunday did not check the neighbouring loft space because they needed a search warrant.

A further search of Sharp’s house began on Friday morning when a junior officer insisted a sniffer dog was ‘indicating’ towards a bedroom ceiling. The officers themselves could also smell decomposition.

Initially a senior officer co-ordinating the search said the loft had already been checked but was persuaded to change his mind.

Colleagues lifted the loft hatch and saw a large ‘container’, possibly a rigid suitcase, containing Tia’s body with her arms and legs sprawled outside".
If Wail story above is correct, a big 'well-done' to the junior officer and his dog.

Wonder what the conversation with the senior officer in charge of the search was like!

But it's not just the feral, is it? The billionaire guy with the dead wife did something similar.

Did he? I thought his wife died from drug-related problems.

Daily Wail has pictures of the mother, step-father and father visiting the scene yesterday. Very sad.

What must be going through the mother's mind is truly incomprehensible.

She did, he was charged for not reporting her death, I read that he couldn't accept what had happened (partlydue to his addiction and partly due to being reclusive), so not quite the same scenario.

Yeah, he tied her up in a bin bag and left her under a pile of clothes I believe.

This is assuming that this Hazell geezer accidentally killed her and then tried to cover up the death as opposed to straight up murdered her.

I agree not quite the same. However, he was charged for not allowing her a lawful burial - nonetheless, how long would her 'concealed body' have lain there if he had not been caught driving while on drugs and consequently arrested and his/their home searched?
So, had he mown down a youngster while under the influence... but he didn't so that's ok, the sympathetic hearts soon bled for him.
He gets off with a suspended on both counts: not allowing the burial and unfit to drive while under the influence.
War on drugs.
What war?

Back on topic.

Never seen "Shooting Fish"??

Many Victorian-ish terraces had no firewalls in the loft space, although latterly it's often a mortgage condition to put them in.

I don't think there has been anything reported on that so far.

Not seen that reported, reports say she was smothered, and then wrapped in a bed sheet and bin bag.

That explains why they had an evidence bag with the duvet in it.
