Is there much action over London?
Discussion
I don't think the Typhoons or Lynx helicopters have had to be scrambled yet! I believe surveillance is being done via other more specialised aircraft at higher altitudes and the traffic that's flying over London (in the ATLAS control zone) are just your usual GA type operations and civil stuff in and out of Heathrow. The GA traffic has most likely reduced due to people needing to book a slot to fly in and out of the area.

I've heard of one Typhoon scrambling for a passenger jet so far. Thomas Cook lost comms briefly over London coming from Tunisia en-route Glasgow I think.
Not sure if it's true or just a 'pilot' rumor.
It's true, just the one QRA scramble of a Typhoon from Northolt to date. Not sure if it's true or just a 'pilot' rumor.
Visited a friend last week who lives on IofDogs and can see Ocean from her bedroom window. Flights it seem are 'fairly regular' (her words) with some taking of at 4:30 in the morning. Sat outside a pub in Greenwich for a bit and saw a Lynx coming in to land, flew about 500 yards down river, and then came back up at about 50ft above the water (not much higher than the embankment we were on) until she was in a position to land. Quite impressive.
