Haven't seen any H558 Arnie's on here. Anyone got one? What are they like to wear? I've already got a Gold Tuna but am concerned an Arnie might be too similar.

My wife with a vintage automatic seiko that I picked up very cheaply - I really like it. Anyone have an idea what model it is?

There's normally a code number either between 5 and 7, or on the back of the case.
It's probably a 7006-XXXX.

The other numbers on the back let you work out the date so if you can post them up I'll let you know.

New arrival. Always exciting!
biggrin

Prospex SRP581K1.

http://www.seiko-prospex.com/sea/srp581k1

It's like a "Super Monster". It's very chunky as you would expect, and the colour scheme is great. The bezel is a deep blue and the case is a matt black hard coating. The strap is a new version of the well known Seiko accordion divers strap. Bezel and crown move with the precision feel you would expect from Seiko. I'm really not sure how they do it for the money! Last photo is next to my "Pogue" I was wearing when this arrived. hehe

Free plug!
Excellent service from http://www.jherronandson.co.uk/
Next day delivery from within the UK and cheaper than Sky or Creation as they have a 10% off "first order" deal.

I was really keen to get one of those blue Prospex Monsters - the main thing which put me off was the fact the blue one comes on rubber while I'd prefer the bracelet. That, along with the price difference from the non-Prospex Monsters which seem to be pretty much identical otherwise. However, with 10% off I'm very tempted...

I know what you mean. I have been umming and arring about a Monster for ages. I wanted the rubber strap, but didn't really like the new colours. Then I saw this before Christmas and was tempted, but didn't go for it. Glad I waited - £220.50 all in, and obviously with a Prospex symbol on the dial I can take my holiday paddling with new found confidence!! thumbup

How much would a bracelet off the SRP583K1 be? Then you could mix and match...

It's a good question - my thought is that I should buy a complete black non-Prospex Monster because I suspect the bracelet is identical: http://www.creationwatches.com/products/seiko-dive...

But they we're up to nearly £400 and I have purchased two watches, one of which I don't want, so it seems silly.

Quick look on Ebay has found item 201282858160, for a new genuine black bracelet from the States, £80 delivered, so you'd be £300 for the watch and bracelet. Not a bargain, but you'd have a spare rubber strap!

Another fantastic Creation Special. I don't have many silver faced watches. This one is awesome for the money, especially in their sale.

My first Seiko, saw it on a thread here after looking at sub £50 Seiko 5's, bit of budget creep and Id bought one, whoops. Only thing I don't like is the cheap replacement bracelet, looking to replace it with something else if anyones got any suggestions.

Edit: Damn rotated iPhone photos!
I've got mine on a Di-Modell Rallye strap - Looks the business I think and correct 19mm width (from UkWatchstraps - http://www.ukwatchstrap.co.uk/DiModell-Rallye-Yell...

One of my favourite watches, full stop - I love the dial on these.

Don't wear it as its not my style its just sat in a box but here is my 1988ish Seiko AGS. Think its a kinetic quartz.

ETA: Just did some googling: http://global.epson.com/company/corporate_history/...

I don't know what its worth to be honest mate. Also have just got it out and got it going and it appears to be doing two second jumps. I am not sure if its related to the power reserve or not, guessing it is!

And here's my 6138. Now on a black leather strap with white stitching but fancy putting it back on the bracelet.
