Return of the hot rod?

A friend of mine is building a few of these, here in the Philippines. They are due to be exported to Australia.
Another 'rat rod' a buddy is putting together on the cheap:
We may be far off the beaten track of American hot rodding, but we still have some interesting metal over here:
Hot rod? 800hp, front wheel drive.

weight transfer, rather common on big bhp front wheel drive drag cars.simply, front of the car lifts under acceleration, weight goes to rear, so to negate this and try to stop the weight transfer and keep the grip at the front wheels, some run rather extreme wheelie bars.
Now the usual arguments are out of the way 
If you want to see some nice stuff search around for the stalwarts like Bobby Alloway, Brizio, Troy Trepanier (rad rides) but also look for new(ish) builders like Dave Kindig, Jesse Greening and Johnsons Hot Rod Shop.
There are a ton of very clever guys out there doing some amazing work.

here's a point to discuss then, what are the PH Hot Rodder's views on fibreglass rods? It's certainly been an interesting topic in other circles.

To be honest I go with the 'if it looks right' it doesn't matter if it's steel or plastic.
Me too. However all I was saying before is, if it's meant to be a pre 1949 (as someone else/others ie NOT me have stated). Then many what I'd consider to be rods would not count based on this. Personally I think the age thing is a bit daft, but it's even dafter to make such a rule and then ignore it some of the time.
