Low down is that I was put forward for a job and company wanted to take me on but needed to sort out the investment talks they were in, so asked me if I would wait until finished (small company) and then they would be back in contact.
Investment talks are complete, I have asked the recruiters to get back in touch to find out how many they are now hiring (originally me, but now wnat 3/4 more)... Company said they would do it by tuesday last week, now the recruiters are avoiding my calls/emails and keep 'forgetting' to talk to the company.
Today they said they would be in touch with info if they contacted them or not to show they are trying and again nothing.
Could I be a million miles off that the company dont want to use the recruiter anymore and they dont want to tell me?
What is the problems if I were to contact the company direct to find out what is happening? Is that a bad thing to do? The Jobs are there at the company so I know its not that they have decided not to hire.

From a recruiters view it sounds like the client has changed their mind on you unfortunately as opposed to anything else.
Best of luck.

Best of luck. I did think that initially, but they asked after me half way through the investment talks which was only over 2/3 weeks ago, so would seem strange now to do that. Will find out one way or another.

Investment talks may be complete - but did they get what they were wanting?
I've had almost identical situations (a couple of times). In both cases the investment either wasn't forthcoming (but, talks had completed) or it was enough below the investment request to warrant a rethink of their hiring & business plans. Or, possibly if you're senior enough, your place got pinched by someone put in place by the investors as part of the deal.
If the company itself told you that it was waiting to complete talks etc, then a polite chase to them directly is probably ok - but don't harrass them. If you were told via the agency then it's the agency you need to chase.
If the agency is effectively avoiding you or fobbing you off then they're hoping you're going to get the message that something's gone awry. Pretty cr*p and unprofessional attitude by the agency, but there's a lot of that kind of thing going on at the moment.

I was in before the investments as they needed someone before hand, so its not a case of them not having the money as they had it before according to the owners who I have talked to several times.
Just bloody annoying....

Have you got a contact at the company that you are comfortable talking to?
It sounds to me as though the company now aren't able to take you on - if they were the agency would be biting your arm off. If you're not getting a response from the agency, you can go direct if you have a contact: not best practice tbh, but sometimes agencies don't want to give out bad news. Human nature unfortunately. But you do have a right to know whats happening.

I just hate to be essentially f ked around and not be told anything, FFS Im a grown person if they cant take a new person on I will look else where whilst working on my project, but to be told they are biting at the bit and just wait and then nothing is not something I need to know about or care about, I want an answer. (my project doesnt affect them or my chances as they know and are happy with)

The recruiter isn't doing their job properly or the client has asked them to keep you on standby, but either way you want a straight answer.
I would call the company, say to them I hope you don't mind but following on from the interviews you just wanted to keep in touch and see how things are, ask them outright, are they still considering you, what is the timeframe they are working on.
I have worked all sides of this type of situation, recruiter, client, candidate I don't see any downside. If they liked you they will hire you, if they aren't going to hire you, then calling them to find that out, won't change things.

This is the thing, the recruiter will still get their payment as they introduced me... I just think that a quick phone call might sort things out and if it pisses off the agency (small agency) then sod them as I need a little more than 'we are talking to them on thursday' and then they dont and forgot to get in contact. will give them until monday and then I talk to them on tuesday I think is the best bet.

Don't be too hard on the agency, if there is a chance they will get paid placing you, then they will want the deal to work as much or more than you. Ask them to break the habit of a lifetime and tell you the truth

Ask them to break the habit of a lifetime and tell you the truth will ask them on monday to find out an answer or I will contact them myself for closure or until I get closure if the owner is not available to find an answer. Would that be an situation that would be acceptable for a recruiter?

Would that be an situation that would be acceptable for a recruiter? Given the nature of the job they tend not to be made of glass, I suspect they will cope.

If all was still well then the agency would continue expend their best efforts with you. No harm in following up nicely, directly, with the company, explaining that you just want a bit of clarity on what the situation is as it's all gone very quiet.

I suspect their delay is the fact they can now hire 4/5 people and not just 1, so they need to decide on what the jobs are and rejigging the original job, but also need to catch up on the work they have missed out on whilst sorting out the investment (both owners are developers in the team)... Im not waiting on the job as my only shot, but I also dont want to miss out on it due to their slackness and accept another position only to be told that job is back on as Im quite far on with other interviews now.
