am after a small trailer for my 7 now as im thinking of doing some hillclimbs next year (L7C at harewood inspired me last week) but i want one as small as possible,(possibly to fit in a single garage)
so what is the smallest possible bed size you would consider ?
i am not going to be a serious competitor,so dont need tyre racks/tool storage/fuel storage etc. and cant afford something like a bj minno/clubman. as i spent nearly everything i had buying the car, so will need to be well under £1k. cheers.

Brian James Minno is designed to fit in a standard single garage and just takes a seven nicely. There is a similar PRG model too. Budget is likely to be £800-1,000 for a decent condition one but they hold their price very well and do make attending events much more comfortable

Sorry just noticed your comment about not having tyre storage, fuel storage etc to keep the costs down. Personally I would spend the small amount extra to buy a decent quality trailer than make do with something that could be sub-standard for you and then loses money when/if you come to sell it. There are single axle trailers that are a bit cheaper but I prefer the extra security of the double axle unit if you have a puncture - a friend borrowed mine and didn't notice the punctured rear for several miles. That would have been very different with a single axle!

Can I just say that speaking as someone who has had a puncture with a caravan, and as someone who has experienced a wheel falling off a 2 wheel trailer after a mechanic failed to torque the wheel nuts, 2 wheel trailers are remarkably stable.

Indeed I only knew the caravan had had a puncture when I noticed that it seemed to be listing slightly in the rear view mirror. boxedin

My twin-axle clubman was £850. Bed size 5'5"x 11'. My car is narrow track and this width affords a couple of inches to spare either side (Dad's widetrack car fits fine as well).
I agree with the above that a single axle trailer is perfectly capable but I'd check that it has 13" wheels not 10".
I'd also say Brian James is worth the premium.

Fair enough. smile

Link removed as it's breaking advertising rules, I believe.
