So, what did you get Hugh? What sort of deals are being offered?I picked up some brown Church's, brown Crockett & Jones' and a pair of black Barker boots for the winter. I'm polishing my new shoes at the moment!
Loads of bargains in the factory shops. The Church's were £190 reduced from nearly £400 and the Crocketts were only £130. The factory shops also had special one-off trial designs. It was difficult only coming home with 3 pairs!

Can anyone recommend any equivalent outlet type places in/around London?

Feel a trip to Northampton coming on.
Is the service in the factory shops as you would expect elsewhere or is it cash & carry type event?
Are the factory shops all in walking distance throughout the city or better to drive?
Thanks

Definitely better off to drive as it's not hard to park. The service is OK but you mainly look through piles of boxes to find a gem. A tactical assault that pays dividends. The thing is, if you are buying classic shoes and are a bit flushe then you can get a few pairs to relieve daily wear as they don't go out of fashion.
Don't miss the Factory shoe outlet in the village of Olney, 10 miles from Northampton, good stock of Loake and a nice place for lunch then go the 5 or so mikes to Wollaston, the Dr. martens factory shop is there. I'm not a DM fan but they have good stock levels and most are half price, got some nice shoes for an 11 and 7 year old nephews Chritmas pressie.

Good lord.
What is it about running shoes that requires them to be so universally hideous?

Country living (no street lights) so I went for the brightest most reflective ones I could get, so I can run in the evening and reduce my chances of getting run over to death.

Such variation on the selected styles and colours there.... I picked up some brown Church's, brown Crockett & Jones' and a pair of black Barker boots for the winter. I'm polishing my new shoes at the moment!

I picked up a pair of these from the local Geox store last weekend. Very comfortable and size 9 fit well when I usually wear 10s.
