Definitely worth sending back for a resole then imho.

You might even consider going with a danite type sole, I have had a few customers do this with older pairs, now the uppers are really soft they feel so much nicer to wear.
Plus coming up to winter a bit less to think about too regarding the weather.
Thanks - will do! Is that (danite) something Barker themselves offer?

Doesn't have to be Danite, but just ask what sort of goodyear welted commando style soles they could do, see what they say.

Ooh, they're nice. I'm a big fan of the Samba Super. Are those a retailer exclusive design? Kind of neat to see the suede tongue and no leather on the inside of the heel tab. I've nothing to update this thread with, though recently I've been falling back to a pair of Adidas Milanos I have. Great looking trainer.

Gents I need some new work shoes and after recommendations. All my current shoes are loake. Popped into John Lewis yesterday and they had an awful range of loake and barker.

Need to be black preferably an Oxford and no brogueing (sp?) budget is upto £200 my biggest issue is I'm maxed out this month so ideally needs to be an online retailer.

How does the vendor being an online retailer help you?

Well I can purchase from home as I'm to busy to get to the shops for the next month or so.

Ah I see, you're flat out. Maxed out suggests that you have no available credit left with which to buy your shoes.

Ah no definitely have the money just very lacking in time and in need of shoes, personally I like to try shoes on but I think I'm just going to have to order a few different shoes at the same time and go for the best fit.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. I was surprised. A true PHer such as yourself would obviously have a Centurion card and consequently shoes of any type would be a trifling expense.

I don't like to mention my centurion card as i like to think I am an average man but I suppose were all friends here. So I guess I can be honest my butler has messed up my fitting at John lobb so I need an interim pair of shoes.

New golf shoes, fancied something more classic - can't stand the Nike, Adidas and UA rubbish that is worn on the TV these days.

Well this is him:

In person he is quite aristocratic. Smoking jacket, those slippers and a greyhound at his feet.
