So, I've decided I've had enough of smoking, and to give up. I tried a few months ago by going completely cold turkey, lasted about a week before I felt like punching 99% of people I met. So, this time I have gone and got the NiQuitin patches. They work pretty well; I had 3 consecutive days at work without wanting to either smoke, smash the place up, or punch any colleagues. My only gripe with them is getting the damn things to stay stuck to me.

They are 24 hour patches, so I expect them to stick to me for 24 hours. Typically I'll remove the previous day's patch in the morning, have a shower, and put a new patch on when I get dressed and go about my day. However, after about an hour the stick has pretty much gone. I don't have particularly oily skin, and am not sweating excessively. I'm keeping it on by wrapping sellotape around my arm, not exactly practical but it's all I can think of. It leaves a nice red sore ring (giggity).

So, is there some other way of keeping it stuck to me all day, or is there a better place to stick it than on my bicep? Because of the tape making it sore I'm having to alternate arms each day. One idea we discussed down the pub was sticking it to an arse cheek, before anyone else suggests it.

Find the E-cig thread, they're miles better.

Failing that, I found the niquitine mini lozenges pretty good.

I am considering the E-cigs, only thing is I want to get out of the habit of going outside and having a puff, I know they're OK for indoor use but my work still banned them.
Might try the lozenges next, if these patches keep falling off. I'm doing nothing tomorrow, day off, so will see if it's just the environment I'm in that's causing the issue. I have got 2 weeks worth of these patches so ideally want to get my money's worth out of them before I move onto something else. Sticking them on arse cheeks is still being considered.

Years ago I used the nicotine gum,I can't remember the brand name though.I can vouch for it's strength however as I was floating on a nicotine high on just the medium gum.
