I had 'flu Christmas before last. Proper 'flu. I'd have happily given £3500 not to have it.
So you're advising the OP not to bother? How much would you pay to avoid an unpleasant virus/illness?I had a torn shoulder muscle a while back and it took over a year to clear.I would have paid...£6,000 to avoid it.
I was having a laugh actually !!
Heard the ad on the radio.....all matter of fact like.
Surprised me a bit after the episode with the guy who lost extremities a couple of years ago that it was being advertised like a holiday !!
Still, a few weeks away from the family sounds great at the moment......but not if my ck drops off !!

Ditto, I missed Xmas dinner in fact I missed Christmas altogether as I was either passed out or awake shivering. Hallucinations were fun though. Would give lots and lots of money to not have that again.

How long did it take for you to get over it? With me I had the main symptoms for at least a fortnight, and felt knackered with a sore chest for at least another 3 months. The coldest sunniest crispest Xmas ever and I missed it!.
The symptoms were at there worse for about 6 days, built quickly from feeling a bit unwell day 1 to unable to move day 3. I missed someones leaving party at work, the Christmas party!Had now so as long as it doesn't mutate, never again!
