Well, because we can, or could, and i'd get a shiny new chassis, and so could others if there was a demand. I don't need a new one exactly but in a few years time it would be on the agenda i think.

6k for a cerb chassis is daylight robbery to be perfectly honest although obviously a niche market. If i'm more than likely to make a jig to replace mine then why not sell them also. At two thousand something there is plenty in it for it to be worthwhile doing.
It's not 6k for the chassis.
Their site says 5000 EUR + 19% VAT for a mild steel one FITTED.
And around 7000EUR +19% VAT for a stainless one FITTED.

To me that's pretty good value if you calculate the amount of work that goes into a swap.

But you have to take your car abroad. Strange as surely that means they have a very small market place. Would they not be better just selling them via a UK agent / fitter.

Agree100%. Surely someone in the UK would be interested in partnering with these guys and offering it as a service?

I think if the quality was as required then people would have your hand off for £2000. Very few will commit though until there is evidence that the jig exists and an example chassis has been fabricated and proven to fit the body tub.
I would in a years time or so.

Lots of talk about stainless chassis, would these not be heavy and prone to cracking?

Stainless is a bit of a naff material to be honest. Its mechanical properties don't make it ideal for structures. Carbon steel with a decent protection system is much better.

I think that's the Verpoorten technik i was talking about.
His name sounds kind of belgian. But the workshop is located somewhere in bulgary or hungary or something like that.
They have them in steel, zinc plated or stainless
I think the name of the guy that runs/owns it is Odin Gregor Verpoorten

From reading his posts on the Cerb FB page, they seem to have used a 98 chassis to make their jig or whatever they use. Are there any significant chassis changes before or after that might cause potential purchasers problem?? Did the rear roll bar mounts change and move to different location at some point in time?

I visited their workshop in Hungary over the Christmas break..impressed with the quality of workmanship and attention to detail.

The rear arb? I think that changed sometime in 97 or maybe 98....
