When living in Dorking, I used to attend the Guilford meet (1st Sun of the month), near the BurgerKing/Halfords etc.

Since moving up North, I learned - and this is why I ask - that it ain't on no more... apparently yoofs in their non-yanks spoiled it by being reckless and the like...

So, is it still on, and if so, will it be on on the 1st Sun of Sep (Sep 5th by my reckoning)??

I used to go but haven't been for a couple of months. As far as I am aware, it still takes place. From what I heard, there were some boy racers in the car park in the evenings and someone was hurt (I heard they were killed). Rumour is that the site owners then withdrew permission for the Club marshalls to police the Cruise - they used to decide who came onto the car park and restricted it to Yanks only. The result is that it is now a free for all and the event has lost its American theme.

Havn't been yet but it is the first Sunday of the month and is still going. Talking to a guy who goes every month he tells me the boy racers are turned away by the police and its mainly American now. It does sound like a good event if you are into American muscle. Due to holiday arrangements I can't go to the Sept one but should be able to get to Oct.

Went a couple of months ago and indeed the police were turning away anyone not in a "Yank".
I don't take my Corvette to a Japanese or Ford or Nippy Nova, Golf etc. meeting so I expect the same curtiousy from their owners not to hijack my club meetings.
If they want to use the same venue for their own cruise at a different time no problem.
If they wanted to park up and look at the American cars no problem.
If they want to before anti-socially then they should stay at home.

Just read in the AAEC newsletter that the couple who used to DJ at the Burger King have been stopped from doing so. The Guildford cruise seems to be dying a slow death...
