Hi im looking at ideas for a new brake light set up on the Tamora!! Has anyone tried a Bi-Halogen dip/main beam or a Halogen front light? I was also looking at SVC for a rear LED light set up but wondered if anyone else has gone down this route, how it looks and how much involved it is to do?

Thanks for any response

Joe

Rear LED Lights
Yes, a few of us - Don and myself that I know of - have gone down the LED route for the back lights. Bespoke design in both cases, slightly
different.

The company who did them may put them on the market later, but I can't say that for sure for various reasons, although I should
know in a month or so and will post the details then.

Front Cluster Lights
I'm also looking a some design ideas for the front light cluster, but only playing around with CADs at the moment as the Sagaris
front looks great as it is, but I have seen a few other designs which would work very well with the existing front look. However,
I need a lot more playing around until I have a few candidates to try out before I decide if I want to do it for real or not.

Thanks for the response alex and what a lovely car you have!!! I was hoping to change the rear lights over for LED units if that's possible and a straight swap but will now keep my eye out for your post if the company in question do decide to go into production of these units. The fronts I know will be a little bit more tricky so likewise will have a think good luck tho

Hi,

I've just bought LED taillights and bi-Halogen front lights for my Tam, albiet with T350 bodywork on it.
The rear lights were I think 46 pounds for a pair, or the same for single fog and reverse lights. They are decent quality and are the same size and shape as the standard Hellas, so will just slot straight in to the same hole. They come with bare wires though so you need to figure a way of connecting them into the wiring loom.

I've got some pictures of them in my own thread about half way down on the 4th page, or if this works, just below:

The front lights in a Tamora are essentially Bi-Halogen anyway, so I don't see the point of changing them? Unless you mean Bi-Xenon? I much prefer Xenon HID lights and these day won't buy a car without (if it's an option. I've bought the Hella Bi-Halogen projector lights from SVC too, and will be converting them to Bi-Xenon which will work in conjunction with the standard Halogen Hi-beams anyway, like modern cars do. ie- halogen main beam for 'flashing' during the day, but if the headlights are already on, the bi-Xenon and the standard Halogen will come on together for super high beam!

Warren at Topcats is about to bring out a solution for the 350 and Sagaris front lights - does not help you with your tam though

Hi Chris,

I have just sent you a mail about where you got your rear lights - I would love to hear about where anyone got their solutions from.

Thanks

Paul.....

Email replied Paul.

For the record it's Safford Vehicle Components which mostly supply kit car components, so a lot of bits are compatible with TVRs, and even the same items, and the head and tail lights at least are cheaper than the dealer prices.

Which ones are you after replacing, Paul? The long ones at the top or the circular pods?

Hi Alex, I was going to replace the circular ones which "seems" pretty easy. A number of us looked at replacing the entire light unit about 2 years ago - we were looking at a light unit like that on a 458 and a photo shop mock up was made and it looked great but we decided cutting the back of our cars up was a step to far though it would get rid of the clear covers which was a big bonus.

I can remember Kieth put long led's on his Sag and Dom and you I believe have done the same thing? I have the lights out on my car at the moment and I am doing some jobs on it so I was thinking I should get the rear lights done at the same time - I then want to replace the fronts.

Any advice / recommendations options would be more than appreciated. I will email you my email address so you can send me stuff off line if it helps.

Paul.....

Like these?

Don and I had these LEDs fitted to our Sags. Slightly different designs though as mine were more advanced.

I'm working on a redesign of the front cluster at the moment, but still not decided on a final design yet as
I'm playing around with two different looks.

The above LEDs or a modded design may be available as a sellable product in the next few months.

If you are interested, I can let you know when and from who to get them. Just not sure yet if they are
doing it or not.

I can take some pictures of mine to show you what they look like.

However, mine still need a little tweaking which will be done in the next two months when finished current work.

Sorry - changing to LEDs within the original style cluster - fine - Don1's, Alex's still look great - improved even over the original - but that - on a lovely Saggy Arse - no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no !

All imho off course.

Mike
