I like the idea of shooting people breaking into my property. Then again I used to live in Texas and was 'locked and loaded' 24/7. Now since I moved back to europe I have a 'opportunist support pack' consisting of hard currency, liquor and a map showing the shortest route to my sphincter ready for anyone who'd like to come and rape me and kill the wife.

Such a shame if this happens but thats the sad state this country is in. I'm hoping it will go down to no further action against the home owner as it has with several similar cases recently. I'm hoping to see a shift towards people being allowed to protect themselves without fear of being arrested. my personal opinion is that people should forfeit all human rights when breaking in to someone else's house. if you wish to cause someone or their family harm, they shouldn't have to think twice about putting you down with whatever they can get their hands on.

He'll get clean away with it, cause he committed no crime. No Police/CPS have the Balls to charge him because they know the politicians and public opinion would destroy them.

If people had more rights within their own home, i bet burglary rates would go down. I hope justice system sees sense.

Unfortunately I can see the homeowner getting charged here, GBH probably. One question though, will his gun license be revoked because of this?

Shouldn't have been arrested, sends all the wrong messages.

Then once they have the facts they will decide if there are charges to answer. Hopefully the facts are as reported and the police will discharge with NFA in due course.

Aggravated burglary - so to me they were armed with something as well. IN any event, I hope the homeowner is not charged. And I hope the burglars are charged and jailed.

Waht's the betting that the burglars have got a string of convictions for previous burglaries and violence?

If asked to help with their inquiries he's going to do what exactly? Arrest rightly or wrongly is associated with fault. It reinforces the message you are wrong to use reasonable force to defend yourself.

Hopefully the facts are as reported and the police will discharge with NFA in due course. They can question them without arresting them.
