I dodge them all the time. Area where I live has a road that they all congregate to and these motherfkers drive me nuts.

There's separate cycle lanes, but do they care? Nope. These douchebags routinely ride three abreast in car lanes, pull out in front of passing cars, ignore red lights and stop signs, etc.

But if any of them get hit its always the cars fault and they throw a fit like you wouldn't believe.

Here we go again. rolleyes

I notice that this thread isn't very big yet. However, we've already had the usual anti-cyclist st that we have in every cycling thread.

Terrible riding..

I belive that cyclists should become accountable for their actions though. I know not everyone is the same but I rarely see one stop at a red light and in give or take situations I don't recall ever seeing one give.

They should be licensed, congestion charged (they cause so much!) taxed and insured (mandatory) when using the road..

When they realise they can get points and fines for being bell ends they might smarten up their act.

Seen plenty of drivers do things just as stupid.

I don't think there's any real difference in the average ability of common sense of drivers and cyclists - they're mostly the same people after all. Just slightly different consequences to getting it wrong.

Almost had one yesterday, driving a 12m long bus down a particular road. Check my N/S mirror, indicate left, check both mirrors again before starting to turn left (nothing there) - start turning left.

Not one, not two but THREE cyclists go around me on my left hand side doing about 20-25mph as i'm turning left!!!

When will there be a compulsory safety course before cyclists are allowed out on the road, I was simply staggered as to why they thought it was a good idea to UNDERTAKE a large vehicle that was TURNING LEFT?!

I'd indicated in good time and checked all of my mirrors - obviously I gave them a blast of the horn as they'd almost got themselves seriously injured. Naturally it was entirely my fault and I got a barrage of words mostly starting with 'F'.

This sort of thing happens to me on a regular basis - i'm far, far more tolerant and patient with cyclists than my colleagues and won't do anything to compromise their safety. That being said, I have absolutely no patience or tolerance of cyclists who put themselves in danger in the name of progress - something really really needs to be done to educate people before their let loose on two wheels.

Every time a thread like this comes up I always say the following. As a cyclist and motorist I always try to do each the best I can. There are however some cyclists who are complete s. Fashion cyclists, those who wear flat caps, even though they aren't a farmer, with skinny jeans and those lenseless glasses are the worst. This is because they have no concept of how to operate a car.

However, in my experience as a cyclist, some car drivers can be s too. Particularly those who haven't done very well in life. I have had people squeeze me before, and yes, I have shouted at them, or tapped their car. Not to cause damage, that would be callous, but to alert them to my presence, although they are probably already aware of that. I ride my bike in a respectful manner, I wouldn't dream of running a red, I try to be courteous.

I think this can be summed up with a simple phrase "There are all walks of life, and each, there are s." cyclists, car drivers, islamic terrorists, poles who raped a girl near where I work. Although some cyclists really are s wink
