Thanks mate, really appreciated wink
Got to be honest, bored out of my skull now and skint but despite that i'm just glad to be here as after seeing stuff recently on the tv with people that had the same injuries, i now realise i have been very, very lucky and have no right to whinge.

Fingers crossed for next scan at end of this month, maybe i'll get back trucking sometime in September smile
I can't bloody wait. Fingers crossed i'll land a decent tour to get me upto christmas.

I've spent the last 2 evenings ploughing through this thread - and really enjoyed it.
I only popped in this section with the aim of getting shot of some old Leyland Truck Manuals.
It also helps that there's an Essex theme - as I'm just down the road from Basildon (in Billericay).

Whilst every job has it's downsides, I can see why you enjoy your work - it beats sitting at a desk up in town.

Good luck to you & I'll be following this thread to check that Chilli is back in the saddle, soon.

Thanks Andy, nice one wink
There maybe someone here interested in those manuals, but if you have no joy drop me a pm as i know a lorry site that has a very active old school drivers/lorry related section on it.
I know Billericay pretty well as lived there for 10 years and occasionally may have had the truck parked up overnight down by south green shops smile

For me personally doing the job was always a schoolboy dream, (i know that sounds a bit sad too many) but i got what i wanted and passed my class one at 23 years old in 1993 and its all i've done since then.
Don't get me wrong, sometimes its been a ball ache of a job and various different things can take there toll but deep down on reflection i wouldn't change it for a thing. It kind of gets in your system i guess, and thats why at the mo its a bit tough dealing with the current situation but again at the mo i'm just glad to be here.

Some of the pics on this thread are really great from all sorts of wierd and wonderful places from the UK to further afield, it is a perk of the job that the view from the office window changes on a daily basis cool

Did a bit of chilli style stuff but on a very small scale , stage lighting rig upto a festival in north Yorks , then collect it the following night , far to noisy for me .
104 bands on over the weekend , I have never heard of any of them.

Well it's been over 7 years since I last drive a class 1 and nothing has changed.
Regular staff ignore you (agency), drivers complaining, dirty cabs etc etc

I'm not doing my CPC so thought I might as well drive one last time.

Wish me luck!

True!

To be honest I didn't really enjoy it. I'd forgotten how soul destroying it is. (Sorry drivers)

Just about to finish my break today and a 64 Transit pickup with high sides,we all know who drives those,

is going up n down the layby."Could I have some diesel,I haven't got enough to get to the garage."

What ,the garage half a mile up the road, that he didn't stop at as I could see him drive past it when I pulled out soon after him.
