So first time down a runway for me, managed 162mph, which I was pleased with.

The runway was a little bumpy towards the end of the run, was hoping for 170, but was told
It wasn't 2 miles long, so need to book myself in at bruntingthorpe next time.

How did you do?

I was in a Cerbera that did 168.1mph (GPS) and that was only the run after the sighting run, he latter saw 180 on the clock (not GPS). I've got a video of it too but it will have to wait as I'm back tomorrow.

That was fun a little bumpy but fun all the same. Some lovely sounding cars there, thanks for allowing us non TVR to share your run.

amazed there was not a speed trap there so you could actually see what you were doing

140mph for me with the roof off

Definitely worried by the undulations in the surface and the relative narrowness of the track or maybe i bottled it a bit smile.......still, it was a good day

No speedo so just went off what I saw on the tom-tom.

149 on the first run without nitrous.
152 with a tickle
158 with a 70 shot and on the slightly taller Mickey Thompsons

I reckon you are over geared with the Mickys on Derek, what do you reckon?

Great pic Jev - thanks for posting. Would have been good to have cracked 170 but yesterday was my first go at it and was playing it safe so had to settle for 150+. Shouldn't have worried though as it behaved flawlessly and was everything I hope it would be, so I'd be optimistic about improving that if I did it again. Was really pleased with how planted it felt and the comments I got about how good it sounded biggrin.

Really good to see everyone - thanks to the Richards and everyone else who helped organise it. Enjoy the rest of the weekend - I'll be back at work later rolleyes

Simon, I may have got a video of you going down the runway, would it be ok to post it if I have.
I took quite a bit of video but not of all the cars.

Just had a look at google maps and trying to guestimate the distance from the end of the run to the braking point. I guess at about 0.8 - 0.9 mile. What do you think?

If thats the case then a standing start to hit 158 before the cone has made my weekend smile

Sorry to Richard and anyone else that may have been hoping for a ride in mine.
I asked a few times through the morning today wether i would be on track and told no. Only just as i had finished packing my car ready to leave i was told of the Ms misfire. I considered unpacking but had to get home. I now have a 5 hour journey to Portsmouth so you can see why it was a hard decision for me.

Great weekend tho, enjoyed it very much. Cheers Richard and co.

Doesn't seem that long at 150-odd but you're probably pretty close with that Derek, sounds about right.
