Bit of mud, bit of snow. Comfy seats, aircon, V8. Like it a lot.

Hope its just visual, nothing too major, and your ok?
small dent behind the rear window and that was it. it was quite slow so no damage either to me or my brother. he was quite impressed with my driving skills. i told him to drive the rest of the day. wink

That Wrangler is too clean. (I was originally responding to Avdb's post)

Here's what mine looked like when off-roading.

The pleasure of getting to far flung, rough track destinations, then having Supper and a sleepover in the bus is quality to say the least.

One of them parked opposite me. A quirky design. 4L V6? What are they like?

Yep, 4L V6 and surprisingly pretty economic, I get 11L/KM in this new fangled money! Pretty nippy too, they'll do 0-60mph in under 8 seconds.

Very comfy, excellent for long distance cruising and pretty awesome off road.

A few people comment about both rear seat access due to the suicide rear doors and also visibility given the size of the C pillars but we've had no issues with either.

Solid build both inside and out too.

Stef

Just got this, I've been a long time LR owner up til now. This replaced an Evoque, had a Defender 110 and Disco 3 before that.

Very happy so far!

Looks nice Ian. What engine does she have? And what swayed you to go Jeep from LR products? How does it compare?

It's an Overland with the 247hp V6 diesel, 8-speed auto and air suspension.

The Evoque was a great car, but I found it was just too small, especially the boot (we have dogs, and a son in a band). The obvious choice would have been another Discovery, but my wife felt it was just a bit too utilitarian. One of the main requirements was that the back seats should fold flat, so we did a tour of the dealers in Guildford looking at alternatives. RR Sport would have been the choice if the seats folded flat, but that ruled it out. Others we looked at were X5, Q7, Toureg, M class, Landcruiser. We hadn't initially considered the Jeep, but the dealer was there and they lent us the demonstrator for a day - pleasantly surprised!

Interior quality is good, but a step down from RR (but then it is somewhat cheaper). Ride and handling surprisingly good, much less body roll than you'd expect and felt better than either the Disco or Evoque. Engine is strong, though a little noisy. My only niggles are the foot-operated parking brake which took a bit of getting used to, and the auto-dimming of the instrument panel (which is linked to the auto headlights).

Overall very happy with it, especially considering the price (you should be able to get at least a 20% discount from list).
