So recently i've purchaes one of these:

http://pistonheads.shotdeadinthehead.com/product_v...

Now i've obviously been a bit 'speshal' in applying it, as i just peeled the front off.
So that you have the vinyl sticker that is 'stuck' onto the the 'shiney white' paper, i went to apply it, but as it's vinyl cut all the bit's of the pistons etc are separately cut, does this mean i need to peel them off one by one & try and allign them? Or have i done something completely wrong here?

I appreciate i sound like a grade a tool, however i want to make sure i'm not doing something wrong before i buy another one to ruin!

Thanks!

Quite speshal.

You apply it as one sheet, that way everything is where it is supposed to be.

Urm, how? I just peeled the front off of it & all you have is the PH sticker stuck to the 'Shiney White' cardy / paper bit.

I do feel like an idiot, yes.

Once you've peeled the front sheet off you just slap it on the car wherever you want it, the vinyl smilie should stick so you smooth out the air bubbles and peel off the backing sheet. Everything should stay where you put it then.

Ok, peel the thicker paper off... Then take what you have left, and apply that. There are video's on YouTube to show you how to do it. I did it thus.

1) Clean the area
2) Line it up how you want it, and apply on one side with tape
3) Peel off the taped side gradually, applying it as you go with a cloth, credit card, etc. if you have curves, etc, it will take some careful application.

Sounds like either a) Sticker malfunction or b) Sticker buyer's malfunction.

The sticker should stick to the sheet you pulled off, not the white card. You can then apply it to your desired surface as one piece and then remove the sheet.

Never seen one of those stickers but it sounds like you peeled off the wrong bit. Any pictures?

Should we suggest a tiny bit of detergent to move the sticker around or is that too much?

I'd cleaned the area etc, went to peel the 2 parts off & 'stick it to the car' but when i peeled it apart the sticker was still stuck to the thicker paper, hence the confusion.
Sounds like a sticker / paper malfunction...rolleyes

Yep, it always helps if you put some Fairy liquid on your fingers before peeling off the backing paper, you should do that, Lawrence, much easier yes

Can you stick the two back together and ease the vinyl parts on to the right sheet instead?

Is there an adult near you who can help?

And if you need to trim it to fit, I'd recommend these...

There was another thread recently about putting smileys on cars. Can anyone remember who it was?

To be fair, the first time I applied one of these it was difficult to know how to do it. Not helped by the vinyl being a few months old - some stuck to the wrong bits and it ended up being a bit of a mess. Nearly pulled it off and binned it but it's better now (not a PH sticker, an ebay M25ring one)

I had a bit on a malfunction with my PH smiley too.

I tried to peel off the backing, but the smiley seperated, some parts staying stuck to the backing and some stuck to where they should have been.

Ended up int he bin!
