A poll for all the Chris Moyles show listners. What did you listen to?

I turned Scott Mills off straight away, just can't listen to him, I wouldn't say I don't like him, just can't listen to him.

So I went to Radio 2 and Chris Evans was playing Re Light My Fire... Really?

From there I went to 6 Music, not bad, but some very odd music, at one point it go so weird I went back to Radio 2 and he'd gone from playing re light my fire to interviewing an 8 year old.

I listened to Mills, Moyles in the morning and Mills in the afternoon were a great combo in my opinion.

So I'll listen this week and enjoy it then next week I might be giving the R2 breakfast show a go.

Mills. I always liked him for my commute home before he moved to 1-4.

I won't listen to Grimshaw though, so I don't know what I'll do next week. Don't know at all.

I put 1 on out of habit, realised Chris has gone and put Radio Cumbria on instead.

Alarm clock still set to R1 which is fine when Mills is on (But I still want to strangle "off of" out of him). Put R2 on in the car for a trial - over the brief period more than half the music was acceptable and the chit-chat ramblings were easy going to my ear so may allow Evans a radio alarm trial.

Evans can't be all bad, he said this morning that he'd been at Goodwood (I think) this weekend and had bought the Dunlop bridge from Brands Hatch in the auction. laugh.

I know he's got his haters but to me he seems to have come through his meglomaniac phase of 10 years ago and become more comfortable in his own skin and a better , more fun, person for it.

Christian O'Connell on Absolute for me. Made me realise just how good a broadcaster Moyles is, and just how much I hate hearing one song, a cheesy segue and five minutes of adverts every ten minutes. frown

O'Connell is so far up his own ass, it's unreal. The adverts don't really bother me, but his constant 'umm's' do. And he seems convinced he's funny.

My wife used to want to listen to Moyles in the morning but his witless banality made my brain turn to mush and the music was intensely sh*te. On the other hand, she dislikes Radio 2 because she thinks it's "old fogey stuff" (there's 20 years between us) so we compromise with a local station normally.

Now he's gone, I'll give it a whirl but it's the music on the 1 Playlist I can't stand.

If you couldn't stand Moyles, then Thick Dimshaw will make you want to cut your ears off with a rusty spoon...

I will listen to Scott this week and then thats it, The Radio 1 Breakfast Show is dead as far as I am concerned.

Dick Grimeshaw is shocking, going to be the death of Radio 1 I feel.

RIP Radio 1, it has been great but sadly the suits upstairs have killed it.

Dev first thing like normal, but although i dont mind mills in the afternoon i couldnt handle him that early. I lasted 40 mins and it was all to lively and chirpy for when my brain still hasnt turned on.

I stuck the ipod on, but i know that i am going to end up on r2 soon as i used to listen to wogan before i found tcms.

What's really strange is, apart from a few people on here with irrational hatred issues torwards him, everybody seems to think getting rid of him is a stupid idea. Apparent he appealed to a listner whcih was too old, yet my 12 year old cousion says she is going to miss him in the mornings as much as me at 37.

I really think the BBC have misjudged this...

Radio 1 today... probably not by the end of the week as Mills is pretty inane (but somehow doesn't seem so bad these days compared to the new lot!). I expect 'Grimmy' is bricking it.

Didn't listen to anything at all on the way to work today; just silence, softly interupted by a funny squishing noise coming from a front wheel scratchchin

Radio 2 for me. I quite like Chris Evans these days. He certainly isn't anything like as up himself as he was in the days of TFI friday, etc.
I missed what it was he'd bought at the auction, so many thanks for the update!
