Interior lights not working

Hi

All the interior lights have stopped working on my 2004 VW Golf. Im hoping its *just* a fuse and was wondering if anyone could help me out.

First thing to check is that someone hasn't knocked the 3 way switch which controls the interior lights. It has 3 positions, off, on, on with door open.

Thats the first thing i checked and it isn't that because the lights doesnt turn on regardless of the switch been in the 'ON' position.

I don't think they have their own fuse but powered from the central electrics unit which I believe is powered via Fuse 24 which is located behind the panel on the end of the dash.

Other thing to check is KL30 relay. Just came across someone with same problem and it turned out to be down to that relay.

he relay is in the panel above the pedal assembly in the drivers footwell

I have an 08 Mk5 Golf and the Fuse (fuse 15) for the interior lights keeps blowing. It stops when I remove the relay.

I've disconnected all the light units I can think of, glovebox, front courtesy lights, rear courtesy lights, boot light.

Is there one I'm missing? Are the lights in the doors or underbonnet I should be looking for??

Any help most welcome, if its not a light unit I suppose I'll be hunting for a chafed wire somewhere?

Found 3 chafed wires in the roof above the courtesy lights. Wires repaired and protected, no more blowing fuse
