Weird issue with my achilles heel;

Around 10 days ago I seemed to have injured it somehow - went to the doctor and got some Naproxen painkillers which helped (anti inflammatory)despite the doctor not being able to see or feel any issues with the heel. It was a really uncomfortable pain though on my left side only, I was limping everywhere and unable to climb staits etc.

Anyway it has been improving and I have been taking it easy, and over the last 48 hours it is sufficient for me to return to some gently CV excercise, so I have cycled around 22 miles yesterday and 20 today.

However, in and amongst all this I feel what "feels like" my ankle creaking when I walk. Not believing this, I reach down and place my hand on my achilles and move my foot up and down. Yes, it is creaking inside, and not just a little bit, the whole achilles vibrates and creaks, no pain whatsoever although a very slight / dull healing ache.

My wife who is a nurse recoiled in disgust saying she had never felt anything like it before - any ideas?

If you're not in pain then there should not be anything major wrong with your heel.

Find a physio that's known for dealing with this kind of tendon issue.

Its def getting better, I just cant understand what the creaking is all about. Feels weird, like I have a comb stuck back to front in my heel!

As long as you're not in pain I wouldn't worry too much.
