Anyone who gets notices about the annual Brits at the Beach event may be aware that the British High Commissioner is organising a charity run to showcase British Cars.

Starting in Auckland and finishing in Christchurch, a week during February.

I wonder if they want an Ariel to tag along. It would be a good excuse to finally get down and meet the owners of the 3 cars that are based in the Garden City.

There's a website if anyone else might be interested. http://ukinnewzealand.fco.gov.uk/en/about-us/worki...

I was at Brits at the Beach two years ago, good weekend. I hope to go again this year. Will be a good excuse to drag the Cerbera out!

I dont get email updates though, perhaps I need to sign up on the website?

See you there.

I've been tempted to go but the weekend always falls on the date of the Bathurst 1000, which is when I'm usually involved in the Kids in Cars charity trackday.
This year KIC was early, last Sunday in fact, because a lot of participants want to go to the mountain for the Bathurst 50th anniversary.
Just when I thought I'd be free another charity I support decided to have a car rally from Auckland down to National Park that weekend.

The rally in late February sounds quite tempting. The only things I thought it might clash with are Cannonball and Ellerslie Concours d'Elegance but they are 2nd and 9-10th.

Watched the event get underway today from the Auckland Domain. Great turnout. I counted about 120 cars that were actually participating in the rally. A great cross-section of age, luxury, performance and types of vehicles.

A great turnout for the Great British Car Rally on the Wellington Waterfront this morning. Fewer than left Auckland as quite a few started heading back north last night.

I was very honoured, however, to have my TVR as an interview spot for the British High Commissioner....glad I gave her a good polishing....(the car, not the High Commissioner)

Nice Richard smile. She presumably didn't appreciate the irony of talking up the recent resurgence of the British car export industry from the drivers seat of a TVR.

I think we passed this coming the other way on the road up from Wellington to Napier about a week and a half ago. Completely made my day!
