I was looking at these but the camera is on the wrong side for right hand drive. Look for demo videos on Youtube so you see how much of the video picture is missinghttp://www.amazon.co.uk/E-PRANCE-Driving-Recorder-...

Sorry folks. I had completely forgotten to update.
Still being reviewed I'm afraid. Our insurers aren't willing to apportion blame as they deem the other party to have caused the accident. The other side are being exceptionally slow in reverting too which isn't helping matters.

Just a waiting game I guess. Our insurers have said they will take it down the legal route if need be.
Lots of cam footage on here, but would be good to know if yours actually secured a conviction or else got the insurance on your side
Cheers
Any news?
Hi Paul.
This is the reply I gave to someone earlier on this thread. Seems relevant to you, too...
"I have posted a few times on this thread and have spent ages umming and aahing about which one to buy, but I finally bought an 0805 from http://www.carcamerashop.co.uk/mini-0805.html
Great customer service - I got an immediate email reply to a question I had about it - and really quick delivery.
I may have been able to get an 'Ebay' one cheaper from China, but the promise of a UK supplied one with full 12 month warranty from a reputable supplier was the deciding factor.
HTH"
Cheers, Jon

I can vouch for the 0805 had one for about 4 months. Got it from Amazon with a 32 gig type 6 card. Only problem I can see is at night if your windscreen is not very clean or has a bit of water on it the camera can focus on the screen when there is a car headlights coming towards you. Other than that it's tiny gives good quality video and it's cheap, what's not to like.

Can anyone recommend the best and cheapest UK seller for Dashcams...?
Looking to get an 0803/0805 or 0806 and have it fitted this week as I have a 500 mile trip up the A9 planned for this weekend...
Thanks in anticipation....
Unless you are driving in low light or night-time then perhaps look at the rather straight-forward 0801 which is even cheaper, I purchased a 2nd E-Prance 0801 dash cam with a 32GB card for £47 from Amazon and delivery was next day, link is http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IKEVT6W - I note that the same seller is also listing 0805 dash cams.Looking to get an 0803/0805 or 0806 and have it fitted this week as I have a 500 mile trip up the A9 planned for this weekend...

Also worth visiting is Combi based in Leicestershire, so should the dash cam malfunction at least you don't have to post it back 6000 miles and wait for a replacement (which may well get accidentally lost in the post!) Combi have a UK telephone number and a email address to contact them on. Email: support@combi.org.uk or phone: 01455-233988
I purchased a 0806 dash cam from them which broke within a matter of days and they replaced it straight away, so highly recommended. The 0806 is proving to be an excellent dash cam, but I'm not convinced it is worth nearly double the price of the 0801 which cost me just under £50 back in September 2014.
And the reason for me buying the 0806 was because it has two micro SD cards each capable of accepting cards bigger than 32GB, in my case I fitted two 64GB class 10 cards, though am led to believe the 0806 chip accepts up to 2TB - I have a 128GB card which I intend to test sometime soon to see if it works. Bigger cards only limited by their expense.

I have a single 128Gb card in mine just now - works fine. Haven't tried a second one in the other slot (expense ), but can't see it being an issue.Do all the cameras record as short duration clips (i.e. lots fo files over a long journey)?
I'd prefer continuous recording.
I currently use Auto Guard app on my android phone and it works well but fills up the phone pretty quick; you have to keep on top of deleting/transferring videos
It permanently retains clips if you want and it will do so in the event of a collision; it can also dial 999.
And it can work in the background whilst you use other apps too.

5 minute clips are better than a continual recording as I can look back through the saved files and for example know that the "incident" occurred just after I joined the M3 so I look through the files until I see that bit of my journey.
As above. Also it is really easy to stitch them back together in Windows Movie Maker and re-encode them to mp4 to upload to youtube R8VXF said:

A bit pricey when compared to the 801/805/806 etc. but probably worth it.

Maybe I have all that I need with this Auto Guard app for now.
