Can anyone comment on how to 'smooth' out the recording on the 0805? It's as if it can't keep up with the trip, as when crawling in traffic, it's fine?
Try playing back in Registrator Viewer instead of the bundled software (which is ste imo): http://www.registratorviewer.com/download_en.html

My Transcend dash cam arrived today. Only had the briefest of plays with it but very happy with the build quality.

I suspect the effect will wear off but I feel I'm a safer driver too, knowing I'm on candid camera!

Had mine for about a year, never take it off the windscreen and has been faultless and excellent video quality

Can't fault the Mobius for £50. I got from http://eu.banggood.com. 2 day delivery. Really discreet sat above the mirror, and I don't worry about leaving it in. Fit and forget. Plus I can take it out and use it as an action camera when out on the bike. The different mounts are cheap as chips. (Less than £3 for the helmet mount)

Bought an otg cable for £1.99 and allows me to config it via my android, use it for aiming etc.

Has anyone tried any of the CHEAP eBay cams? My dad has been looking at them but I just can't see them being any good...

I see a couple of you have ordered a cam that looks like the first link but from another website
Forget the cheap ones, and buy a branded item from a reputable outlet.
I have gone through three cheapo cameras...they work for for a few weeks, maybe even a couple of months (enough time for people to give a good review) and then the problems start.
The most annoying one was a £35 G1W which apparently used a capacitor rather than a battery (Lipo Batteries die quickly in hot cars), When it started playing up, I popped it apart and sure enough, there was a bog standard Lipo, and no capacitor rolleyes
Chinese sellers on eBay are almost always selling fake knockoffs. Buyer beware.

The cheap one from ebuyer arrived and it is rubbish. very similar looking to the middle link above.

The quality is dire and you cannot read numberplates on it. It also is quite variable from poor to really bad.

So a waste of £17.

I do like the idea of it though and it is fun to have a record of a journey, but obviously it need to be in proper HD rather than "1980s HD" I have just ordered a Mobius. hopefully will be a world better.

The more I look at this K1S dual camera unit, the more I think it's the best solution for me. Has anyone else got one? Quality looks excellent day or night, and the cameras are tiny. Looks like it's about £200 on eBay which is less than I paid for my BlackVue a couple of years ago, which I was disappointed with.

Be careful jumping in with the K1S - I can only speak for my own but it has had a few issues, nothing insurmountable but go in with your eyes open.

The night time video quality isn't that good, it's OK in cities but as soon as you go out into the sticks or unlit motorways, you may as well not have it!

My device (March firmware, Hardware V3) has an issue whereby when the card fills up, it sometimes stops recording while a file is removed then restarts, or it corrupts the date information when saving the file to the card.

The camera alerts are OK but the PGPSW database is full of potential mobile sites which make mostly every trip a monotonous drudge of "camera alert", "speed control", "mobile camera" ad infinitum. I've made a script to port the PGPSW database to the device, which can also bump up the trigger speed by up to 10% of the prevailing limit but it still means you get warning after warning, so much so that you become immune to them, and when it goes off for real - you can miss it.

I'm tempted to take mobiles out of my copy of the db, it's getting that intrusive.

Do you guys leave your cams in the car the whole time or do you have to remember to take it out every journey?
Are they difficult to fit (is it worth paying for the halfords fitting service?).

Just wondering what is the cheapest set-up I could get that would be useful in the even of an accident really....

I just leave mine in. Haven't hardwired it but the supplied cable is plenty long enough even for my car.

I had one of the cheap ebay jobbies,it had the tiny 1inch screen, it kept losing its memory and reverting back to factory utter crap which is now part of land fill. Have anybody else had problems with these cameras, it was a black one with the small screen and it had a black circular end which had the on off switch. I now have the blackvue 550 2ch and it's awesome, it's never not recorded its never forgot who it is, it's just fit and forget. Anyone else have one?

Looks like the advice is to get a Class 6 rather than 10 for these cameras.

Out of interest, if they've been faultless why have you had 3 of them?
