Don't waste your money on a Lidl dash cam for a few pounds more buy a Möbius and have one of the best cameras out there.
Totally agree with you, the Mobius has to be one of the most reliable, best developed and continually improved cameras on the market, and it's not limited to just being a dash cam, it's an action cam, so can be used outside of the car, whether it be on your bike or out skiing, or fitted on a drone, etc. Pick and choose your mount type whether suction or permanent, cables for charging, and SD card, etc. to make up the perfect camera for your particular use.

Buy it direct from the manufacturer in China via their ebay shop: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/eletoponline365/

The Mobius really is a great bit of kit.

My Mobius gets incredibly hot under operation - is yours not going to suffer from a lack of ventilation under that piece of interior trim?
Well Iv had a drive for near 40min today.. pulled off the panel before shutting off the engine and the mobius was warm to the touch, not even uncomfortably warm.. far from hot.

I have the latest FW, recording loop in HD to MOV files... pretty much default except capacitor in it (no battery) so 0 sec wait to shutdown.

How is this getting full marks on the image quality?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=15&v=Pt-usCZ3p...

My dad and I are going to buy a cam each but a lot of the reviews seem to give full marks to footage that doesn't look all that clear to me. Is there a particular sector-leading model at present?

Edit: I actually take the above back as I've looked at a few more vids of the Nextbase 402 G and the quality does seem to be pretty good - any suggestions for models offering even better image quality folks?

Youtube does scale the quality down somewhat, that may be why.

See if you can get hold of raw footage of one. Asking nicely on here, or giving it a google and looking on forums my produce raw footage you can download to see what they're really like.

Has anyone got a link for a hardwire wire for a Mobius? Not sure if you need one with a female charger socket.

Also any reason why mine sometimes seem to not want to record? It is like it has forgotten the setting to overwrite old files. As soon as I plug it in to the pc it is ok again for a while, but it is a bit of a faff. I would rather fit and forget about it.

Thanks - when it comes to uploading footage (should I need to), does each camera come with its own software?

So not to far into ownership of a Mini 0805
I seem to have hit an issue. Upon start up the noise indicates the cam has turned on. But whereas originally the screen came on for a moment and then turned of as i started driving, this no longer happens.

After a few minutes a second bleep happens but this sounds strained.

Ive checked all wiring etc, and everything seems ok. I have also re used the cigarette lighter power, but agian no differance.

I pulled the dashcam out and plugged into my laptop. I can access the files, but intrestingly the last recording was about 2 days ago.
So is it simply that i didnt get the settings correct, and enable it to write over existing files? as such the memory is full?
As the total file size appeasr to be consistant with that of the memory card.

The main problem is that when i plug the dash cam into power only the red light comes on to indicate recording. But it wont allow me to access any menus.
I have tried with no power attached and simply pressing the big on button, but again no screen or menu options.
I tried keeping power pressed in for 15 secs as indicated in the manual hoping it would factory reset with no luck.

if anyone has any advice other than return it, id be apprecative smile

They're fairly unreliable, just like all the previous models have been. There's a load of people with the problems with them if you look at the dash cam talk site. People go for the Mobius if you want reliability.

Right, after a very close call on the M62 today I need to finally invest in a dashcam. Any K1S users on here that can comment on the reliability?

Some do some don't. I have a Mini 0801 which is just plug and play. You plug it into your PC, it pops up as an external drive (memory card) open the DCIM folder and copy and clips you want across onto your PC/Mac.

Some come with software that allows you to play it back and plot where you were on a map and your speed and such, but mine was an early one which wasn't specced with GPS.

We are heading down through France to Switzerland in a few weeks, am I still OK to use my windscreen mounted camera? We might also enter Germany on the way back.

It is easy enough to remove the camera, but I'd rather leave it doing its job if I am allowed.

I have a MINI 0805 in my wife's R, and now want one in my own

However, it has to be from Amazon, as I have vouchers!

Can anyone recommend a good Amazon sourced camera?

Thanks

Does anyone know of anyone locally(ish) around the Berkshire/Surrey/Middlesex/Hampshire borders who could supply and fit on in the next week or so?

I'm absolutely sold on getting one smile

Not in France.

Took mine out for our recent trip.

It's another thing for a grumpy gendarme to stick a fi e on you for if you are unlucky enough to be pulled over.
Why not?

The benefits outweight the slight inconvenience of being stopped - unless you've got something else to hide from them of course. Perfectly legal to use there I believe (but not all EU countries - so check before travel).

I went on a Euro Trip in May. Went through France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy & then back to France etc and kept the dash cams mounted and recording. I felt so reassured by the fact that everything was being recorded in 1080p. Luckily I never got pulled over by the Frenchies but why would they disallow something that can help solve most accidents? Is it the data protection act or something similar?

ryan is that using a suction mount not included in the package? Or is that the thing that comes with the package. Any chance you could post a pic from the passenger seat looking at it to get a better real life view of the size etc when you get a chance? (ie not too zoomed in on it). I like it but I think it'll be too visible in my car. I want something I can fit and leave.

I wish they (all) would make a lense that is on its own connected with a wire to the main body which could be mounted separately. I can't understand why they don't do this.

actually don't worry I found these couple of clear shots. See to my mind this is a bit too obvious, which is a bit annoying.
