I have a set (7.1) of these currently on stands / doughnuts and am currently having an orangery built where the TV etc will eventually reside. Whilst it's mid build I have the option of pre-wiring the ceiling and fitting ceiling mounts.
Has anyone done this - did it change the sound much? The orangery will be 6.1m by 5.8m so I'm concious of the size of the speakers and the increased distance from the listener - centre of the room.
I don't want to go to the effort of doing this only to find the sound was better stand mounted and closer to the listener.

Satallite speakers should be as close to ear level as possible.
I imagine at ceiling height they may sound distant and echoey....

Apparently the surrounds are ok to be mounted up higher as you're looking for a diffuse sound for these. Wouldn't want to do it with the LCRs though although some do. Oh and worse "I've got an orangery" thread ever

I've got in ceiling (dipolar) surrounds and they sound great if that helps

I've got the Micro (not Ti) with the front 3 wall mounted at about 80cm height, and the rear surrounds ceiling mounted, and they sound fine.
They're all using the same ceiling mounts, which allow you to point them in the direction you desire.

Thanks again chaps. I also PM'd plotloss who I'd bought them off originally so I now have a plan.
The surround sides and rears will be ceiling mounted and the fronts will be stand mounted. Will wire in the cables tonight after the builders go home.
