What is telling you they need doing?
Mayby they are leaking. Back to the op it's a bit of a pain to do but job time in a garage is around 4hrs ive done a few and the injectors have always been able to be remove them so i would say have a go at it and take plenty of pics when taking all the parts of just as a memory aid just incase you forget where a part goes.Ended up getting it towed to a garage. Apparently the fuel system was air locked. They used a compressor to pressurise the fuel tank and had it going within the hour.
Turned out one of the injector seals was still leaking but not one of the two that had been leaking before so a bit (more) shoddy workmanship from me.
£105 later and it's working again.
Mechanic mentioned that if it had been a mondeo tdci he wouldn't have touched it.
Mot on Saturday and start looking for something Japanese to replace it.
