So, once again, I'm looking for insurance for a heavily modified 4x4 where the main driver will be a 25 year old male with reasonable driving history. Who are the prime suspects to try?

Try Lancaster, we've used them for a couple of off-roaders and they have been ok.

A-plan insurence (Norwich branch) - amazing and blew Flux right out of the water (more than half price even though I'd been a with Flux the year before).
I think Flux are crap now (used to have 3 cars with them but now only 1 and thats reluctantly) - shame 'cos they used to be the absolute business.

Try '2gether' insurance brokers. They have always been great for me. 165 quid a year for my modified defender. I'm 29, decent post code....

+1 for 2gether. Also try Glynwood. Think they're both underwritten by Highway who accepts the mods at a low premium.
