British GT - Running Costs

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if any team owners or people working for a team could provide estimated running costs for a full season of British GT?

Also, if anyone has experience of what running a GT3-R that would be fantastic. I've heard horror stories about the cost of gearbox rebuilds etc. so would be interested to hear...

I appreciate it is one of those 'how long is a piece of string' type questions, but any guidance would be greatly received.

I would say the bare minimum would be around £200,000. Start adding things like testing, damage & hospitality it probably gets north of £300,000 quite quickly

£200k is on the low side. These days £220k minimum for the season and a couple of pre-season tests. If you want to do more testing then that'll cost. Not sure whether insurance would be included in the price, but it would be advisable to have it as a fairly minor looking shunt in a GT car can turn into £40k very quickly.

I raced a GT3-R this year. I don't know exact costs but budgets start at £250k. I really don't think there is much margin for the teams at that price, by the time you add a few wear and tear failures.
