I was wondering if anyone has happened across a fault indicated by flashing D shown on the dash gear display?

It corresponds with a lock out of gear which is cleared by pulling over and switching off and restarting.

anyone any suggestions.

I've spoken to my local dealer back home and he suggested i see my nearest dealer but they are miles away from my current location.
