Simple opinion, Doesn't matter if you own a Lambo or a Micra. Do you (or perhaps your friends) consider your car to be fast?

Id find it interesting to see where the middle ground is.

Ill start, Bmw 528i. It's quick enough, but not a "fast car".

Over to you.

I would say my car is fast, and people who have been in it in the short time ive had it have agreed. Though obviously i agree there are much, much faster cars out there.

1995 mr2 btw.

The Passat is not fast - in fact it is juusssstttt on the acceptable side of adequate for the daily hack.

The Caterham I would say accelerates quickly, corners quickly, stops quickly and feels quick at normal speeds.
A pretty low top speed due to the gearing, diff and aerodynamics, but yes, on balance I class it as 'fast'.

eta, the wife's Auris is not even adequate - in fact it is so slow and feels such hard work on the motorway that I actually hate the bloody thing.

E36 328i. Compared to the majority of cars on the road, yes. I'd say fairly quick.

Define "fast" i.e acceleration, 0-60 etc.etc. I have a Ford Mondeo Estate. I had it at max Leptons at J8,M25 when I met an unmarked Audi; should have known better being in Bandit country but yes,at that time my Dad taxi was "fast!!!" BTW he was an basolut gent by giving me his best glare then going after the mid-lane hoggers!! Phew!

E36 328 tourer is distinctly average I guess, can keep up but no world beater.
SLK230 Kompressor again not lightning fast but goes well for an auto.

Against a lot of the cars on this site, not particularly

Against the majority of the cars I see on my daily commute, yeah faster than a good 80% of them I reckon

As with this, I think the CSL is pretty quick, but not "can't breath" fast

The Alpina C2.5 will just about keep pace with a modern 520d, and as a friend of mine said: "If it's a couple of decades old and you can feel yourself being pushed back into the seat, it was fast in its day" biggrin
